I always like it and appreciate it when newbies (to me anyway) just jump in and start posting like LonesomeTrails has done! it's easy-just do it! I've seen Arcane Son in here since we've had the doors locked and I've always appreciated his postings elsewhere. hello Arcane Son and everyone else.

I agree, all input from the untapped latent power that lays dormant in this explosive website is indeed a call to heed .
Start a Thread if you've never taken the Plunge...don't be surprised if twenty or thirty people are all of a sudden interested in what you have to say.

Please, take a moment and think about a topic you would like to discuss...if you are looking for new thought and fast intelligent responses, and not Troll-crap!!! like at Anomalies Net or elsewhere.

Then Post a Topic starting thread, and you will find the Minds you were seeking to further your self.
Lurking is like watching TV.

Get IN ON THE ACT!
Cheers <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/cheers.gif" alt="Cheers" title="cheers" />
Welcome to all new members...some I know I encouraged you to suscribe here...why did I do that?

Because here there is a diversity and collaboration that hasn't existed in any other BBS I've been a member of. And I've been a member of BBSs for more than a decade now.

We are all individuals...as I say in one of my poems...look around and there you are...Life can be cirular mirror.

We all can only do what we can do...we all have limits....we all have talents... we all have flaws.

I am here because I believe getting the Ares Face crying into heaven each night from the Cydonia Plain on Mars into mainstream Earth's Archeology of our collective history is the best chance for humanity's survival. It will compel us off planet Earth at breakneak speed like we were once able to do in the 1960's. Unfortunately America has forgotten it's roots, it's commonality and it's can-do-itness. And I am here because going to Mars can only done by EARTHLINGS. Not just Americans, but people from all over the planet must want the few we send on our behalf to succeed in going and landing there safely, give us some answers but ever more questions to answer on return trips, and return them home to Mother Earth.

There are two "supporting sites" we are trying to get going to help this process along and those can be read about here:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=9091

As everything in life we cannot live as hermits...even hermits need the company of other living things.

This site is the core of a collaborative effort to enable anyone to express themselves in civility on any subject YOU want to talk about.

Start a new thread and/or pop a small comment anywhere.

We get along best as humans when we collaborate together to accomplish great things.

We have that here.... :ARRR:

Hello.

My user name is Gregort.

Some of you may already know me. I began blogging during the summer of 2005 on "The Captain's Blog" on the Enterprise Mission.
The summer of Katrina/Rita/Wilma.

I was "gort," but since there is another gort here already I have come here as Gregort. I was also gort on the Enterprise Mission Drydock blog
and on the its successor, fshod.blogspot.com, where I remain gort.
I am also gort on Dark Mission blog.

I was born in the District of Columbia in the same year as the big UFO flap over the capitol, 1952. My father worked for "No Such Agency" for the first three years of my life.

I grew up mostly in St. Louis and Kansas City. I served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. After two summers in Texas and the intervenening winter in Monterey, California, at the Defense Language Institute, I was stationed on the Key West Naval Air Station.

I was in gradeschool and junior high during the first "official" U.S. manned space flights, the Mercury and Gemini capsule flights.
I was high school during the early Apollo flights. I've been a big fan of space flight and all that stuff. I've also been a photographer back in the days of darkrooms and film and enlargers. And since my dad later worked at McDonnell--which became McDonnell-Douglass--which became Boeing, I regularly devoured his weekly copy of Aviation Week and Space Technolgy and especially studied photographs from space explorations.

I attended the University of Missouri-St. Louis and graduated from Columbia College, Columbia, Missouri. I have lived in Columbia since 1989. I am an artist and am involved in community activities.

Well, that's about all for now. I will look at some of the other subjects on this site and maybe tell a little more about myself later.

Nice to be here, after about two days of trying to figure out how to get registered and authorized. I look forward to meeting all of you.

Gregort
Hey Gort (Gregort)...glad you got in... Applause

Things are getting interesting, indeed.
It may take me a little while to learn the ropes here.
Some intriguing new croutons from HHMSS Sword.
I need to ponder Smoke

Right now sir Donald of doink-head is drubbing his ding over the "fact" that Mars has two microns of precipitable water in itz atmosphere, the sky is always red, there is almost no atmosphere, there is no water in liquid form (let alone, perish the thought, summer polar seas!) and no oxygen atmosphere generated by microbes to gigantic tree-like organisms!
Welcome Boardwalk!

No "drifting" in here though!

Oh and a belated Cheers
I can say one reason that alot of new members may not post right away is because this place can be a little intimidating at first because some of the more "hardcore" people so to say, not to mention this board has some of the best written posts I have seen, complete use of proper spelling and grammar and such.

Hardcore?
Nah. We are marshmallows with titanium outer protective shells. And we have dictionaries and spell checkers and stuff.

I can't say I agree 100% with all that,
However, one thing I can agree with you on is that Don doesn't know his

No corn-cub, bubba? I fell yur pane.
Quote:And we have dictionaries and spell checkers and stuff.

So I'm not the only one here who heard the phrase, "look it up in the dictionary" too many times in their childhood.

Peace
there's something in Firefox that shows you've misspelled a word by red underlining it, and I can usually figure it out-but ONE WORD I HAD TO GO LOOK UP! I WORKED AROUND IT FOR A MONTH OR SO--THEN CURIOSITY OVER WTF COULD IT BE WON OUT... and that word was... NOTICEABLE. I have never noticed that before... like ably vs abley, I figured you dropped the e and added able... English can be a really tricky language.

Usually people (men) complain that they don't touch type, fast 2 fingering typists abound...but that's the reason usually given for not being prolific posters.
In my people managing days I used to have a reputation for
being strict on spelling. So being Richard by name they used
to say look it up in the "Dicktionary".

Some people were such bad spellers that it took the girls in typing
a lot of my time to correct their work with endless joking about it!

In the end I concentrated on "composition" rather than spelling but
even that was subject to misinterpretation with incorrect spelling.
What you write together with how you write it is just as open to
hilarious consequences.

For example in one of my employments the guys created a "book"
- literarily, it was about an inch thick - about the nickname "Dick",
and it was the world's most extensive "Dicktionary" on the subject -
full of stories, phrases, poems etc, etc, and so incredibly funny
I wish I could get my hands on it again!

See what I mean about telling a story and spelling. Incredibly open
to misinterpretation! Gard, copy the above and put it into Firefox -
would be interesting to see how the spell checker, thesaurus and usage
functions deal with it Cheers
I was ruminating on what a surly mooded bitch I can be (was verbally reminded of it by voices outside my head this am) and realized that is a big connection we all have which could appear to be intimidating to those more consistently civilized ones looking in briefly.

Bites can be as bad as the barks, but often we are all on the same mood wavelength at the near enough same time... some a little ahead, some a little behind.

Just thought I'd bring that explanation, not an excuse-an explanation, up for the FAQ area we don't have that I know of-not that I know much about what goes on in here.

<img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smoke.gif" alt="Smoke" title="smoke" />

back to work-PLUMBING-and I hate plumbing, one of those things that as soon as my silly little mind says 'oh what a piece of cake'... something snaps off and chingers my fingernail bed like what happened yesterday. ouch.
