In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way.
Franklin D. Roosevelt

Some facts to start.
2006 - Democrats gain control of congress on the heels of ending the Iraq war. That worked well. Pelosi, Reed and now Obama as the 3 stooges of the Democrats. You have the Fed bailout of AIG, Freddie and Fannie… which is socialism of the private sector or to be more precise communism if one considers the fed the state, call it CommuCapitalism. Throw in the gov endorsed off shoring of the American manufacturing base to mostly China and other countries. World wide recession/depression fears and signs of monetary implosion all around. Has Obama addressed even just once the nature of fiat-debt based currency, the fed reserve and that relationship to the banking uber elite puppet masters? Ya right. And since we are talking globalism also remember Ireland throwing a monkey wrench in the E.U. constitution.

So on to this..

If George W. Bush's upcoming global summit on how to fix the world's broken financial system—an event proposed by several European presidents and prime ministers—is to be a serious effort, the leaders should begin laying the groundwork for establishing a global central bank.
The idea of such an institution would have been a political nonstarter before the current debacle. The crises of the last several decades—the Latin American debt meltdown in the early 1980s, the stock-market crash in 1987, the savings and loan collapse of the early 1990s, the Asian financial blowup of the late
1990s, the Internet-stock collapse earlier in this decade—did not involve the extent of global linkages among financial institutions or the mind-boggling consequences of complex securities that we are seeing today. In none of these previous blowups did the global credit system shut down, as it did in recent weeks; in none did governments in both the industrialized and developing world intervene so massively, coming close to nationalizing the entire global banking system. And in no one was it so clear that there is no effective governing authority at the center of global finance.

There was a time when the U.S. Federal Reserve played this role, as the prime financial institution of the world's most powerful economy, overseeing the one global currency. But with the growth of capital markets, the rise of currencies like the euro and the emergence of powerful players such as China, the shift of wealth to Asia and the Persian Gulf and, of course, the deep-seated problems in the American economy itself, the Fed no longer has the capability to lead singlehandedly. After World War II, the IMF was designed to be a central financial institution, too. But over the decades it has had less and less influence on the rich industrialized nations. Its credibility with Asia and Latin America has also waned. It is still involved in bailouts for countries such as Iceland and Pakistan, but its once central role in protecting global stability is clearly over. And most important, its political legitimacy is deeply flawed, because its management structure reflects the 1950s, with Belgium having more voting power than China.

In the future, a global central bank is needed to oversee the rudderless global financial system. There are a number of critical functions it could perform-------snip-------------

G-20 Summit: A New World Order?
November 13, 2008

http://seekingalpha.com/article/105748- ... orld-order

This Friday and Saturday, the leaders of the world's largest nations are to meet in Washington at a summit of the G-20 members in order to develop a framework for extricating us from the worst financial crisis in 75 years. Expectations are not high. Although the crisis threatens to deepen, most pundits do not believe the G-20 can agree because their national agendas are so different.

Right now, we are presented with an historic opportunity to create a new economic world order. However, it is unlikely that this opportunity will be seized. Failure could mean a more severe crisis and economic chaos of the most severe kind. In this post, I will explain what sort of an agreement could work to restore some semblance of order and whether we may ultimately get to this framework.

Much of what I write here regarding fiat currencies, gold and inflation is unknown to the public at large even though the information is freely available. If more people informed themselves about economic history, we would be much better off economically.

Who are the G-20?

The G-20 is generally used as a proxy to represent the most inclusive list of the world's economic leaders. It is not all encompassing -- large, rich countries like Spain are not represented. However, it does bring together most of the major players. Below is a description of the organization from its own website.

The members of the G-20 are the finance ministers and central bank governors of 19 countries: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. The European Union is also a member, represented by the rotating Council presidency and the European Central Bank. To ensure global economic fora and institutions work together, the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the President of the World Bank, plus the chairs of the International Monetary and Financial Committee and Development Committee of the IMF and World Bank, also participate in G-20 meetings on an ex-officio basis.

Therefore, a meeting of this group should be of great significance and lead to major outcomes to set us on the right path to dealing with the credit crisis. However, I am less optimistic about the prospect of a meaningful agreement toward eliminating global structural imbalances. Many nations have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo - the United States principal amongst them. Moreover, the U.S. is led by an administration that is just 2 months from its end. And, we probably have not seen enough carnage to force the relevant parties into developing a new framework. This will only happen at a figurative economic gunpoint.

The existing global economic framework

The existing economic structure came into being as a result of a 1971 decision by the Nixon administration to close the gold window ending the Bretton Woods framework that had lasted from 1944. This framework is based on floating exchange rates with the U.S. Dollar acting as the system's effective anchor and world's reserve currency.

What the U.S. dollar as the world's reserve currency has meant is that the United States Government effectively sets the standard on monetary policy. Other nations, holding most of their reserves in dollars, must follow the U.S. if they want to maintain a relatively stable currency peg to the U.S. dollar. And, that gives the U.S. government a license to print money and inflate. Therefore, the United States benefits the most from the current global system.

Before 1971, the United States Government was constrained by a fixed peg to Gold. In fact, this peg was set at $35 per ounce and the United States pledged to redeem any dollars presented to it by foreign central banks for gold. This effectively meant that an arbitrage situation existed where foreigners could hold the U.S. dollars in reserve if they felt those dollars were worth $35 an ounce. Or they could exchange their U.S. dollars for gold. If the United States ran an inflationary monetary policy, foreign central banks would lose confidence in the dollar and redeem their dollars for gold, stripping the U.S. coffers of all its money.

The problem for the United States was that it wanted to spend more money than it had. All governments, left unchecked, will spend to their hearts content. In the 1960s, the U.S. government ran a "Guns and Butter" policy of increasing spending domestically while increasing military spending to fund the war in Vietnam. The Johnson administration did not want to increase taxes, so the U.S. inflated the money supply by printing more dollars. Foreign central banks started to become suspicious and eventually the French under the often anti-Anglo-American Charles de Gaulle started to redeem its dollars for gold.

However, excess U.S. Government spending and the Vietnam War continued into the Nixon Administration and on August 15, 1971, Richard Nixon closed the gold window. The U.S. went off the gold peg and a floating currency regime came into existence.

The current regime has meant inflation

After the U.S. de-linked from Gold, it was free to inflate as it pleased. However, there were nasty consequences: oil prices rose, commodity prices rose, gold rose, inflation rose, and the dollar fell. During the 1970s, the new economic regime meant a period of severe weakness for the U.S. dollar and the U.S. economy.

This period ended when Paul Volcker became the Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board in 1979 and proceeded to hike interest rates to unseen levels above 15% -- which is unimaginable when compared to the 1% we see today. The result was a severe double-dip economic recession and stock market crash. But, the most important result was Volcker crushed inflation, setting the stage for an historic bull market during the 1980s and 1990s.

While Volcker's drastic actions were laudable, it did not stop the U.S. Government's urge to inflate. We were living in a world of fiat currencies. With the U.S. dollar still the world's reserve currency, the U.S. was free to run budget deficits, trade imbalances, and inflate. So it did.

Unfortunately this inflation was not the consumer price variety that we had seen in the 1970s. As the United States deregulated, as the U.S. government privatized and as U.S. industry moved overseas, inflation was seen mainly in asset prices.

Moreover, when the stock market crashed in 1987, the Federal Reserve learned that monetary easing can work wonders in helping ease crisis. As a result, the Federal Reserve under Alan Greenspan developed an asymmetric monetary policy that flooded the economy with money whenever crisis or recession became a threat.

So, as the 1990s took shape, the world was awash in dollars. These dollars funded severe asset price inflation, not only in the U.S. but abroad, leading to severe boom bust cycles in Mexico in 1994-1995, Emerging Asia in 1997-1998, Russia and Brazil in 1998. And Argentina at the beginning of this decade.

The emergence of China as a deflationary counterweight to the United States was also helpful in maintaining consumer price inflation at low levels as China used a beggar thy neighbor currency policy which allowed it to become the producer of choice and export low cost goods to the rest of the world.

The end of the super bubble

All of this produced a certain sense of Nirvana for many for a very long time. However, underlying this were massive trade, currency and fiscal imbalances and a shed load of debt. It is the debt that tells one we have been experiencing inflation. All measures of debt and deficit in the United States have been rising for nearly a quarter century to levels never witnessed in history. Only recently have we again started to witness consumer price inflation from this underlying monetary inflation.

However, the credit crisis has interrupted this whole process. We are witnessing the most severe financial and economic crisis in three-quarters of a century. This in large part because the financial system had become so unstable that more debt and leverage just was not possible. In essence, the subprime housing crisis was a trigger for massive de-leveraging globally. Nevertheless, monetary authorities are doing their level best to save this fiat currency monetary system by flooding the world with money - so much so that they must hide the mechanism behind this reflationary effort. I am skeptical as to whether they will succeed.

What the world needs now

We need an end to fiat money. Fiat money is what has caused the U.S. to inflate. And it is what has caused a massive super bubble and build up in debt.

If you go back in economic history, there have been numerous attempts to issue fiat money -- money based only on the promises of the issuer. Every single time, these monetary regimes have failed. In the United States, many states issued their own money in the 18th and 19th centuries. But, the temptation to inflate was too great and these regimes failed too.

In order to promote stability, money must be backed by something of value like gold. Gold is a valuable commodity in limited supply. Because the supply cannot be increased, money supply cannot be increased excessively when the currency is backed by gold. Otherwise one runs into the problem that the U.S. ran into when it closed the gold window in 1971.

It also must be noted that the limited supply of gold is critical. If you look back in time to the 16th century, the Spanish economy went off the rails after it started to import lots of gold from the new world. The Spanish were the world's superpower at the time. They found lots of treasure in the new world, particularly gold in the Incan empire. While stealing gold from the Incas seemed a blessing, it was a curse in disguise for Spain because it inflated the money supply, resulting in severe inflation in the Spanish economy and eventually economic collapse and ruin.

However, there is one problem with the gold standard right now: prices. The Federal Reserve has gold holdings of about 286 million ounces. However, the Fed has been inflating their balance sheet at an unprecedented rate to deal with this crisis. The Fed's balance sheet liabilities were $900 billion in August. They are now approximately $2 trillion and well on their way to $3 trillion by the end of the year.

Therefore, the US dollar would have to be pegged to gold at over $7,000 an ounce and as high as $10,000 an ounce. Gold trades around $700 an ounce in the open market. In a recent paper, QB Partners has also done the math for other currencies as well.

Aggregating the gold holdings of the ECB and the legacy central banks that comprise the Eurozone would imply a $6,300 gold price. Again using the Bretton Woods system as a model, the US dollar and Euro might be designated as “global reserve currencies” because they could most easily be converted to gold. The remainder of participating global currencies could then be made exchangeable into US Dollars/Euros at fixed, but amendable rates (floating foreign exchange rates).

The trickier part of converting paper currencies to a global gold standard would be persuading economies with high paper currency-to-gold ratios. Their paper currencies would suffer devaluations versus currencies with higher gold reserves. For example, the Japanese Yen’s gold price equilibrium would equate to nearly $40,000/ounce when calculated against the Bank of Japan’s gold holdings and the Chinese Renminbi’s gold price equilibrium would equate to about $117,000/ounce when calculated against the People’s Bank of China’s published gold holdings.

This makes a gold standard rather untenable. Moreover, the U.S. and the U.K., with high debt levels, are two economies that want to inflate in order to reduce the burden of their debt loads as everyone de-leverages. China, Russia, Brazil and the Middle East, with massive dollar reserves, have zero interest in going to gold because it would mean an enormous economic loss for these countries holding dollars.

So, my conclusion is that there can be no agreement to solve this crisis until we have a global economic shakeout, forcing the various interested parties to the table. In all likelihood this would mean severe economic turmoil and depression unless the monetary authorities can successfully reflate our way out of crisis. So, we will get a new world order only by plumbing the depths of a depressionary crisis or through the successful efforts of central banks to inflate their way out of trouble.

Whether we experience depression or see a successful reflation effort, the future after the crisis looks to be one predicated on much debt. De-leveraging will continue apace for some time and that is a very good thing.

Obama doesn’t broadcast moral disgust when talking about terror groups, but he said that in some ways he’d be tougher than the
Bush administration. He said he would do more to arm the Lebanese military and would be tougher on North Korea. “This is not an argument
between Democrats and Republicans,” he concluded. “It’s an argument between ideology and foreign policy realism. I have enormous
sympathy for the foreign policy of George H. W. Bush.....

Sensing the hype, Favreau catches himself quickly. "I looked at the Edwards people in 2004 and thought they were such Kool-Aid drinkers. Now I'm one of them myself."

Something stinks of psyops to me. Can’t get my finger quite on it though. The birth certificate stuff is interesting. One thing in particular is Hawaii’s policy at the time to reissue birth certificates so the Hawaii birth cert is meaningless. I can not help but think why not just give up the original? But why did this come up in the first place???

Surely Obama has been groomed for politics since his exit from Harvard law school and likely before that. His law background after Harvard is uneventful and for one at the top of his class he did not even do a stint as a clerk.

His wife is a current member of the Chicago CFR. This alone screams globalist.

He certainly has connections to questionable characters throughout his life. Coincidence ? sure…
The Authoritarian Personality is one term used to describe the Anti-Life Regime's endless strings of players-I wonder how many of them have suffered the types of parental abuses this writer details?

It was ringing off bells for me about the ones who donated millions of dollars to define 'marriage' in California last week- the individuals and the churches that were determined their people make the $$$ sacrifices so they couldn't be accused of manipulating the politics, thus jeopardizing their tax exempt status.

The Architects of Fear:

“Family Values” Up Close under the Roof of Domestic Terror

By Craig Chalquist, PhD

If you keep on excusing, you eventually give your blessing to the slave camp, to cowardly force, to organized executioners, to the cynicism of great political monsters; you finally hand over your brothers. – Albert Camus

The ultimate error is the refusal to look evil in the face. – Rollo May

November 16, 2008 "Information Clearinghouse" -- These last eight years of the Bush Administration felt very familiar to me. I suspect the same is true for many survivors of the terrors and degradations of religiously sponsored child abuse. Nor are we ready to celebrate now that a promising new administration waits on the political horizon.

Five years after World War II ended, a group of scholars published a landmark analysis under the title The Authoritarian Personality. These scholars, who included Else Frenkel-Brunswik, Nevitt Stanford, Daniel Levinson, and Theodor Adorno, wanted to know how a progressive nation like Germany could be taken over by the barbarous Nazi Party. It was obvious that a small group of psychopaths could not have subverted established institutions unless their propaganda resonated deeply with a large sector of the German population. Further research laid bare the psychodynamics involved.

According to this research, people who favor authoritarian politics and succumb to reactionary rhetoric exhibit a consistent personality pattern of “antidemocratic tendencies and fascist potential.” In other words, they tend to share common psychological characteristics, including some or all of the following:

* An entrenched obsession with safety, security, and order.
* Rigidly absolutist “black-and-white” thinking (e.g., us against them).
* An overemphasis on “strength,” power, and control; a “might makes right” orientation.
* Authoritarian submission: a willingness to blindly obey the rules of authorities.
* Authoritarian aggression: an aggressive attitude towards individuals or groups disliked by the authorities; bullying individuals or groups perceived to threaten traditional values.
* A belief that negotiation, understanding, empathy, and compromise are weak.
* A belief in the need to punish those who do not follow rules to the letter.
* Scornful rejection of the subjective, imaginative, and aesthetic dimensions of life.
* Superstition, cliché-mongering, stereotyping, and fatalism.
* A belief in fixed, unalterable, and traditional roles for women.
* Secret insecurity when unable to live up to high standards imposed publicly on others.
* Identification with those in power, with excessive emphasis on posturing toughness.
* Destructiveness, cynicism, general hostility, and a habit of putting down perceived opponents.
* Projection: the tendency to see evil, exploitativeness, and danger in others instead of in oneself.
* An exaggerated concern with other people’s sexual activity.

The authors also found a very high correlation between possessing a number of these traits and demonstrating a consistent and malignant prejudice against out-groups.

I know these characteristics, having seen them up close throughout eighteen years of child abuse that left me scarred and my sister quasi-psychotic.

A Portrait of Conservative Abusers

I am adopted, and when the agency handed me over to my adoptive family, they did not suspect a potential for abuse.

Both my parents held college degrees and made a decent income. My mom managed a hospital laboratory, and my dad underwrote insurance after having served in the Navy. Both came from families that practiced a fundamentalist form of Lutheranism, and they were resolved that my sister and I should receive a Christian education. I still recall being shown films of the Saved vanishing from the planet as the damned went to hell. My parents were and are faithful Republicans who voted for Nixon, Reagan, both Bushes, and McCain.

We know from studies of abusive families that abusers use terror to control family members. The scare tactics of the second Bush Administration are familiar to me from my upbringing and from six years of counseling work with male and female perpetrators of domestic violence. A primary goal of domestic terrorism is to implant in the victim a sense of utter helplessness in order to increase the victim’s psychological dependency on the perpetrator. In our home this included a level of constant fear so intense that I could hear my dad’s car from several blocks away as he drove home from work in the evening. I suffered from an ulcer at age 12; my sister was prone to dissociative episodes that made her speech and behavior erratic. My mom worked during the evenings we were maltreated and exercised the conservative prerogative of pretending that nothing was wrong even after she was beaten up on the weekends.

Perpetrators also paint the world in frightening colors and present themselves as strongman saviors who will “protect” the people they terrorize. As I write this, the tactic has passed over into extortion: a bail-out of banks presented as a necessity to prevent the economic collapse already apparent in the news.

Another tactic is to convince the victim that the terror and violence is for their own good. In my men’s groups, traditionally raised fathers often talked about instilling “respect” in their frightened children, but what they really meant was “fear.” They too had been terrorized as boys, and this time (so went their unconscious logic) they would sit in the driver’s seat. They would be the object of fear instead of its sad victim. The extreme of this dynamic is the sadomasochistic reality of torture: the externalized recreation of the unresolved pain of interior injury.

Hypocrisy is necessary to prolong abuse and fear. The “family values” I saw up close included being spit on and backhanded, watching my mother and sister being slapped around, having my hair pulled, being bounced off walls, and of course an unremitting stream of verbal abuse of a level of filth I won’t repeat here. My dad was careful to leave no visible marks, but on one occasion, when he drank too much beer and forgot to stand on my feet to keep me from running away, he chased me through our yard with a knife until I got safely away in the streets. The police were called but did not arrest him (they are better trained nowadays); as a result, I was pummeled and spat on for a week.

My sister was similarly mistreated, but in her case the relief she sought in religion led her into the arms of a church counselor who molested her throughout her childhood. The church elders ignored the evidence of this until several more girls came forward, at which time the pastor was defrocked for failing to report evidence of child abuse. The molester got off on a technicality. My sister grew up to be a crazy mother and chronic liar who has been vomiting herself to death for years despite decades of therapy—this time with a Christian counselor. When confronted my parents accepted no responsibility for any of this.

Are all conservatives abusers? No. But many who supported the prior administration’s psychopathic war on human and environmental rights demonstrate the red warning signs of the Authoritarian Personality. This makes them extremely dangerous, the more so when their rhetoric of patriotic fervor and Christian decency goes unchallenged. We Americans ought to have learned by now that the politician who hides behind such masks while pointing the finger and crying, “Associates with terrorists!” or “Extremist!” is merely projecting his own potential to terrorize and giving us a look at his own threatening extremism. Nor should any ecocidal candidate with a vested “religious” stake in the end of the world be allowed anywhere near a position of political power. Ever.

The Reign of Terror is Not Over Yet

When the Bush regime came to power, I was the only liberal I knew who felt no surprise whatsoever. The mass surveillance, the concentration camps, the endless war, the sacking of the national treasury, the destruction of the biosphere, the branding of opponents as unpatriotic: these onslaughts make perfect sense when viewed as outcomes of a perpetrator mentality. They are the historically expectable moves of authoritarians who view the world through the dark lenses of deep paranoia and unacknowledged rage. They give frantic speeches about protecting the family against gays and secularists; but who will protect our families from these architects of fear, whose real god is not gentle Jesus but impulsive, bloodthirsty Mars?

Given the level of my personal and professional education, I know that the “good father figure” of a newly elected president, although a welcome development for many reasons, will not usher in a brave bright day of protection and sanity, especially once all the savior projections wear off. The architects of fear will not hand President Obama the keys to the Oval Office and quietly disappear. I know how they think, and I know they will continue to scheme and deceive, smear and manipulate, fulminate and terrorize until they either take total control of what’s left of the Republic or end up behind bars.

Terrorizers, bullies, and perpetrators must be openly discredited and held firmly accountable for their actions; for once they are pardoned and appeased by those who are too fearful—or too implicated—to stand up to them, they will seize their advantage and strengthen their systems of stalking and intimidation until every last vestige of personal freedom disappears into the maw of their insatiable craving for power.

EXCELLENT RESPONSES-there are millions who do in fact resonate with the likes of the public faces that repel and horrify me as ones they respect and trust to keep them safe- how to deal with these 'Cruellians' as one counselor terms them when they vastly outnumber normal people in society? How to set them straight that there will be no more bullying and terrorizing allowed when you really can't reason with the unreasonable? When law enforcement, court and even Domestic Violence personnel are of the same ilk as the perps and adding another few layers to the abuse load? What are those who aren't and won't be abusers to do?

It's been my experience that the degree to which I'm willing to excuse dishonesty is the same degree to which I'm willing to excuse evil. Now, just because I believe honesty is needed for people to interact on a healthy level doesn't authorize me to go an a hunting expedition for my villain (dishonesty) of choice. Indeed, that kind of hunting expedition would be over as soon as it had begun; that is, I would have to lie to myself in order to believe I'm qualified to pull the trigger on the next person.

In the profile provided with this article, Craig seems to be the kind of person I would like to admire: an engaged, responsible, caring individual. These are good qualities -- the kind of qualities we should all pray to have. It's wonderful to think we can have a bond of accountability with someone having these qualities. That's why I recommend Jesus. He's the only One I know of Who backs up His recommendations with a perfect track record. He offers a community built on honesty.

One more thing, the bible writer John tells us that Jesus is help from above. The One Who gives us existence knows that we need help and so He procreated a child in His own image Who perfectly communicates His intentions toward us. Our part of the transaction is to admit we need the help.

1 John 1:5-10 -- "This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."

Jesus gives us a door through which we can get back on the strait and narrow way of honesty. We no longer have to dodge from the reality of our own messed up track record. And we can stop making that track record worse, beginning right now.

Why shouldn't the One who gave us life be able to intercede in our affairs? He can and He does and He will again. Naturally, though, if Jesus (a perfect man) experienced the brunt of dishonesty's rage, those (imperfect people) who testify to the truth about Jesus will experience the same.

The real Jesus is coming soon according to the real plan.

Gravatar Craig,

Your brave stance, and attempt to overcome the embarrassments of openly sharing your experience of the abuse that you were subjected to, is an example for all others whom have been there, and suffered the abuse,at the hand of their abuser, and yet are further subjected to sufferance through their silence that gnaws away at their souls, and humanity.

Alas, your assessments are bang to right, and cannot be argued with, which is an indictment of our failed societies that accepts the abusers to be pious, and altruistic.

The cries of "baby killer" is not to protect the unborn, but to stop people from having sex. Fact is the unborn is seen as the punishment for those whom have indulged in any manner of sex other than the prescribed missionary style within the wedlock, which is seen as the penance for having fun.

Fun is the element of envy that enrages these so called conservatives, whose bitterness and hopelessness has transcended their humanity, and given birth to these monsters, whom are then celebrated within our failed societies as the stalwarts of our "values", and "traditions".

Craig, I can understand that you may not be surprised at the extent of corruption, and criminality and ill intentions of the current batch of bible thumping, freedom lovin, free marketeers, whose reign of terror, and stealth culling of large swathes of humanity, has come to be accepted as the only way that our systems can function. However, I am certain that you too, are in fact in despair that cannot be described, at the thoughts of how come we have been manipulated to arrive at such dark times, whilst our science and technology could have been put to so many better uses?

Sadly the cycle of abuse is perpetuated to levels of an almost pandemic infection of the sane souls, through relentless promotion of "our", "value system" that is so much in the vogue, for anyone subscribing to any dogma, has already forfeited; sense, reason, and logic.

Gravatar The writer lived in hell. Myself? I grew up in the 60's. Parents beat the hell out of their children with no remorse. My parents were idiots. My father had a college degree. (Guess education doesn't mean shit.) My older sister tried to commit suicide at 17. I found here with empty pill bottles next to her. I saved her life. All because of parental abuse. I look back on those bad old days. And wonder what the hell my parents were thinking?

Gravatar You ain't seen nothing yet! Just use books to look back at what happened to family life in America during the Great Depression. It fell apart, and so did cultural morality, for lack of a better term.
What happens to family life, conceived and established in a time of plenty, when the cupboard is bare?
Reduced circumstances present a great challenge to conventional family structures, as we picture them here in the good old USA.
And in the age of computers, moving to another state and starting over is not a practical plan.

So, tell us Craig, how did you handle your Dad? Did he get his in the end? You never tell us.

Gravatar If one thinks of people as described here as having a belief system that protects them from remembering their own abuse/neglect, a pain they do not want to visit, and that this belief system must be maintained at all costs, then we get a glimpse of someone who does NOT have a self- observing part of their mind that can evaluate their beliefs and behaviors.
We make the mistake of assuming they do have a self-observing part we can talk to and are mystified when this does not happen. Abusers need to be gently contained, offered therapy, but never to be reasoned with.
Fred Clark | 11.17.08 - 12:32 pm | #

Gravatar Indeed, Fred, what can be said to someone in a self-sustaining loop of denial? I guess the best we can do is to make sure we can trust the mechanism whereby we determine who has a self-observing part and who doesn't. How do you suggest we begin the process?
Think for your own self | 11.17.08 - 12:57 pm | #

Gravatar I agree with you! We need to stop them. How? is the question.
Even if it is possible that our elected officials gave the bail out money with the belief that those that have caused the downward spiriling while feasting on our hide will fix the system...surely they cannot believe it after the last senate meeting with them....."We are going to give ourselves bonuses but not with the money we took from the government." Kind of like AIG..and the banquet....
So, we should begin to make a list:
All senators that are willing to give money without investigation, iron clad guarantees and say so in the businesses we are bailling out...should not be considered smart enough, or caring enough or honest enough to be elected officals -- and voted or criminalized out.
Oh and like all common criminals their money should be returned. All the executives that ran companies into the ground while collecting bonuses under falsefied books should be ousted from their positions.
All moneies lent and agencies monitored by the government should become transparent enough so that we can monitor the monitors and know that investments we are sold as safe are safe. We have had oversight...it has not worked, we need transparency.
(Obama first promised transparency and then interchanged it for oversight)
In addition I would like to add, that in my opinion we need to restructure society and the underlying attitudes that motivate our society to heights of competitiveness instead of humaness.

I do also agree with you: the bullies are just waiting in the wings for they have no reason to believe that we will beable to stand up for ourselves. Therefore, once again..the question is what to do? and how to do it?.

Change - that would be the 47¢ that the grocery store cashier gave me back tonight after I gave her a twenty for the items that I carried home in my pocket. That is "change." Strike the other definitions in the dictionary.

I'm wondering now when the Messiah's faithful will begin wake up. Surely this is not the "change" they had in mind. But then again, perhaps it is. The brain dead among us seemed to adore the Clintons.

the OP article basically exposes the true weakness in the whole Obama media image of "Change"
and that whole epic media event evoking the Obama inspirations of the future

as much as he has the voters inspired that he will be so different,
he still signed on that bogus bailout ... hook line and stinker...

Interesting that Spain is not in G 20....

"Change" also includes Hillary as the Secretary of State in his cabinet-he offered and she's accepted.

I don't like that-she's been a :rah: :rah: girl for every venture Bush has put off on the citizens of this country and the entire world hates him and US for them-regardless of how Anti-Life or Anti-Constitutional all of this admin's actions have been.

Via Yak since Hitlerey will be head diplomat and it looks like very scarry barry has the support of king henry. Another glaring dot IMO ... Personaly I would prefer Bill in that position. I don't think hitlery can unscrew her dick long enough to play nice with the other players plus Bill is better looking. Hi did you ever do a chart on him? A Leo correct? Interesting to get your take on that.
It's not a bus, it's a conga line.

Surprisingly though, I couldn't find a pic of Obama congaing so in that aspect he just earned himself a minuscule bit of respect from me.
Other than that though, the new boss sure looks like the old boss.

I've never seen Obama's chart-there are a few signatures in there he should be having about his father. And major mother issues of course. Leo's have a very hard time recovering emotionally from any business that involved their mothers.

I'll snoop around and find some charts on the Obamas-

The Clinton administration is being wayyyyyy over represented in Obama's picks, nothing at all the least bit progressive or any change from when their time cards stopped in '01.

And this is only going to give those who hate this tribe that much more reason to hate Obama.

I had come across a few sources that the Clintons were paid off to set back and let Obama get the hot seat.

Now all we need is for JANET RENO-MADELINE ALBRIGHT TO STICK THEIR POINTY NASTY LITTLE HEADS UP-Madeline's been busy in Iraq, with Diane Feinstein's husband bringing democracy to the Iraqi people-in between sniper attacks and the lethal roadblocks.

And what's wrong with Leos? And what do their mothers have to do with the Prezduncy anyway? And what's wrong with two of them? At least they probably won't be trying to do each other. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/rofl.gif" alt="Rofl" title="rofl" />

No, it's those negative Scorpios you gotta watch out for. They're so everywhere I don't even have a firm picture of what positive Scorpio even looks like. Mutually Assured Destruction, though - there it is, before we eat Borscht we will blow every last trace of ourselves to kingdom come. Could it get any more negative Scorpio than that?

Leos are loyal and true, as far as I know, unless the dignity gets sucked out of their calling and their lot becomes negative - then there's nothing really for them to do but impress you with their bling and their lookee-me whining.

I'd not be surprised if Scorpio (complete with negativity) took an interesting (disgusting) position in the chart of damn near every bottom-feeding politician you can find though, serious. It's that God-awful power tripping you can probably find in any good description of abusive sociopaths.

And I haven't figured out the antidote. Taurus is opposite Scorpio, of course, but... maybe something wooden? Across their bums maybe? Or is that what they want but shouldn't have? Who can figure...?

Course, maybe I'm just biased in favor of Leos from having more cats than I do appendages, I dunno... ;)

Obama is the biggest distraction and illusion created by the Hollywood types since Godzilla, a neo-unicorn or a “mythical corrector” who will save the American People from themselves? With the help of good people of the Zion, the Jewish lobby and keeping the Jerusalem as a non divided city and fighting the “right” war in Afghanistan and Pakistan, librating Darfur and setting American Bases by invasion in Africa to help liberate his Black half? brothers and sisters from his other half, the colonizing, resource stealing, Christianizing, warmongering, lying, white half?

Change of Obama is no more than changing a darker color of diaper or Band-Aid , on a leaky economy, bloody world and ass of the most foul democracy in the world. Same Zionist shit a different diaper to hide it, the white diaper was more transparent, so the Neo-Satans changed it to a darker one to hide or camouflage the stains. It is all about the Hollywood illusion for the “Media Breastfed ” American Zombies.

From this well written essay-

Driving Mister Barack

By Mickey Z.

November 12, 2008 "Information Clearinghouse" -- As you know, the Empire has selected a new emperor. The Mafia has chosen a new don. The corporation has hired a new CEO. Are you brimming with hope yet? Read on…

According to Reuters, (Nov. 11, 2008), President-Elect Barack Obama has urged President-Select George W. Bush to take “measures to help the ailing (automobile) industry on top of a $25 billion loan packaged approved in September.”

I could easily discuss—yet again—the unspoken reality that America’s version of capitalism relies entirely on socialized costs and privatized profits and all those who righteously decry Big Government are choosing to ignore the massive state subsidies that created and maintain Corporate America and “our way of life.”

But Earth’s problems are far worse than state capitalism wearing a transparent free market mask. The auto industry Mister Barack and his merry band of Democratic comrades so desperately want to bailout and revive is and has been one the primary causes for our planet’s environmental and social degradation.

Does the Chairman of Change know or care that during the last century, an area equal to all the arable land in Ohio, Indiana, and Pennsylvania was paved in the U.S.? This area requires maintenance costing over $200 million a day and the surreptitious cost of the car culture totals nearly $500 billion a year in the U.S. alone, much of that going to the sustentation of a military presence in the Persian Gulf.

An Obama aide said Mr. “Yes We Can” has suggested “accelerating implementation” of the current auto industry loan package and “exploring avenues that exist under current law.”

Does Bilkin’ Barry the Baby Boomer ever think about how cars create 7 billion pounds of un-recycled scrap and waste annually? With approximately one billion discarded tires littering our increasingly paved landscape, let his loyal Obamatrons meditate upon this: Every tire loses one pound of rubber per year, spewing minute grains of rubber into the stratosphere and then back down to find a new home in our water and/or our lungs. Has anyone told the Pope of Hope about the innumerable eco-systems exterminated in order to make way for highways, off-ramps, parking lots, strip malls, and other auto-centric structures?

I could go on (and on) while BHO begs GWB to identify “someone in charge of the auto issue who would have authority to bring about reforms that would lead to a viable auto industry.”

Here’s the equation: A viable auto industry = a non-viable global eco-system.

Along those lines, there was other news on November 11…but it did not make the Reuters wire. The North American Earth Liberation Front (ELF) Press Office announced: “We have one message for the incoming Obama Administration: act to protect the environment or the ELF will.”

Sounds like change we can believe in…

Obama Transition Chief: He’s Ready to ‘Rule’

Tuesday, November 11, 2008 10:17 AM

By: Jim Meyers Article Font Size

A comment by a high-ranking member of Barack Obama’s transition team seemingly hinted at the mind-set of the incoming administration.

Valerie Jarrett, co-chair of the transition team, appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday and said that “given the daunting challenges that we face, it’s important that President-elect Obama is prepared to really take power and begin to rule [on] day one.”

Warner Todd Huston observed on the NewsBusters Web site that “rule” is a word “that reflects the worst fears that people have for Obama the ‘arrogant,’ the ‘messiah,’ that he’s here to ‘rule’ instead of govern.

“Someone needs to get to Jarrett and inform her that American politicians are not kings and do not ‘rule’ from office.”

I'd say that someone needs to get to Mr. Meyers and explain to him that, in fact, they are using exactly the correct words for what they do.

He's the one that is behind the times. I'll bet he still quotes the constitution <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/rofl.gif" alt="Rofl" title="rofl" /> like it means something.

They don't.

The First Time I Heard Of Barack
http://rense.com/general84/brck.htm
By Tom Fife
11-20-8

During the period of roughly February 1992 to mid 1994, I was making frequent trips to Moscow, Russia, in the process of starting a software development joint-venture company with some people from the Russian scientific community. One of the men in charge on the Russian side was named V. M.; he had a wife named T.M.

V. was a level-headed scientist while his wife was rather deeply committed to the losing Communist cause - a cause she obviously was not abandoning.

One evening, during a trip early in 1992, the American half of our venture were invited to V. & T.'s Moscow flat as we were about to return to the States. The party went well and we had the normal dinner discussions.

As the evening wore on, T. developed a decidedly rough anti-American edge - one her husband tried to quietly rein in.

The bottom line of the tirade she started against the United States went something like this:

"You Americans always like to think that you have the perfect government and your people are always so perfect. Well then, why haven't you had a woman president by now? You had a chance to vote for a woman vice-president and you didn't do it."

The general response went something along the lines that you don't vote for someone just because of their sex. Besides, you don't vote for vice-president, but the president and vice-president as a ticket.

"Well, I think you are going to be surprised when you get a black president very soon."

The consensus we expressed was that we didn't think there was anything innately barring that. The right person at the right time and sure, America would try to vote for the right person, be he or she black or not.

"What if I told you that you will have a black president very soon and he will be a Communist?"

The out-of-the-blue remark was met by our stares. She continued, "Well, you will; and he will be a Communist."

It was then that the husband unsuccessfully tried to change the subject; but she was on a roll and would have nothing of it. One of us asked, "It sounds like you know something we don't know."

"Yes, it is true. This is not some idle talk. He is already born and he is educated and being groomed to be president right now. You will be impressed to know that he has gone to the best schools of Presidents. He is what you call "Ivy League". You don't believe me, but he is real and I even know his name. His name is Barack. His mother is white and American and his father is black from Africa. That's right, a chocolate baby! And he's going to be your President."

She became more and more smug as she presented her stream of detailed knowledge and predictions so matter-of-factly - as though all were foregone conclusions. "It's all been thought out. His father is not an American black so he won't have that social slave stigma. He is intelligent and he is half white and has been raised from the cradle to be an atheist and a Communist. He's gone to the finest schools. He is being guided every step of the way and he will be irresistible to America."

We sat there not knowing what to say. She was obviously very happy that the Communists were doing this and that it would somehow be a thumbing of their collective noses at America: they would give us a black president and he'd be a Communist to boot. She made it quite obvious that she thought that this was going to breathe new life into world Communism. From this and other conversations with her, she always asserted that Communism was far from dead.

She was full of little details about him that she was eager to relate. I thought that maybe she was trying to show off that this truly was a real person and not just hot air.

She rattled off a complete litany. He was from Hawaii. He went to school in California. He lived in Chicago. He was soon to be elected to the legislature. "Have no doubt: he is one of us, a Soviet."

At one point, she related some sort of San Francisco connection, but I didn't understand what the point was and don't recall much about that. I was just left with the notion that she considered the city to be some sort of a center for their activity here.

Since I had dabbled in languages, I knew a smattering of Arabic. I made a comment: "If I remember correctly, 'Barack' comes from the Arabic word for 'Blessing.' That seems to be an odd name for an American." She replied quickly, "Yes. It is 'African'", she insisted, "and he will be a blessing for world Communism. We will regain our strength and become the number one power in the world."

She continued with something to the effect that America was at the same time the great hope and the great obstacle for Communism. America would have to be converted to Communism and Barack was going to pave the way.

So, what does this conversation from 1992 prove?

Well, it's definitely anecdotal. It doesn't prove that Obama has had Soviet Communist training nor that he was groomed to be the first black American president, but it does show one thing that I think is very important. It shows that Soviet Russian Communists knew of Barack from a very early date. It also shows that they truly believed among themselves that he was raised and groomed Communist to pave the way for their future. This report on Barack came personally to me from one of them long before America knew he existed.

Although I had never before heard of him, at the time of this conversation Obama was 30+ years old and was obviously tested enough that he was their anticipated rising star.

It proves that the NeoCons, by hook or by crook, will assume control of the main transmitters to the tinfoil helmeted legions and try to sell us on the idea of a New Cold War for which they will provide expensive armaments as to profit greatly even as our economy spirals down the crapper?

Wolfowitz did a lot to convince me of their looniness when he talked lovingly about picking a fight with China. Other than the premise of Armageddon or something, that might have to do with other international tensions that could prove lucrative for the likes of KBR, Carlyle, Halliburton, et al.

No, it's anecodatal so it doesn't show any more than it proves. So as far as someone's trying to get it down my throat, I suspect it's horse apples. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/rofl.gif" alt="Rofl" title="rofl" />
In terms of a NWO agenda...I might not swaller the whole thing but a bite doesn't taste sour right now.

Communism/Socialsim...anything is better than unfettered and unregulated capitalism.

Dude we don;t have unfettered or unregulated capitalism. It is gov sponsered capitalism which is damn close to communism anyway. Larger government as in globalism?? Are you kidding why would you think it would work? It doesn't work on national scales. I guarantee it will not work on a global scale.
ANOTHER CLINTON RE-TREAD-HE WAS YOUNG IN THAT ADMIN, ONLY 57 NOW-PARDONED MARC RICH-did Obama 'serve' in Clinton's admin or circle of power in the 90s?

He looks like Ron Brown to me-maybe he can investigate that weirdo plane crash and the stories that Brown and others survived only to have bullet to head?

Holder Top Prospect for Attorney General

Eric H. Holder Jr., a former second in command at the Justice Department who served as President-elect Barack Obama's campaign co-chairman, is almost certain to be selected as U.S. attorney general, according to knowledgeable Democratic sources.

Holder, 57, has a rich background within the criminal justice system as a former judge and top federal prosecutor in Washington. He is widely known within the city's legal community and for his philanthropic work on behalf of troubled juveniles detained at Washington's Oak Hill facility. If he is confirmed by the U.S. Senate, Holder will be the first African American attorney general.

For the past several years, Holder has defended private corporations as a partner at the law firm Covington and Burling. But he took on an active role in the Obama campaign as a friend and adviser to the senator from Illinois after meeting him at a Washington dinner party, and over the summer served on his vice presidential vetting team.

Holder has won praise from lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, although his selection is likely to revive questions about his failure to act forcefully to prevent a last-minute pardon of fugitive Marc Rich, who won clemency from President Bill Clinton during his last days in office in early 2001.

Holder would join several other veterans of the Clinton administration who already have signed on to the Obama team, including White House counsel Greg Craig, White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and Ronald Klain, chief of staff to Vice President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr.

Holder has yet to complete an energetic vetting process by the Obama-Biden transition team, and his position as attorney general would have to be be confirmed by the Senate. A formal announcement of the choice might not come for a few days, a source familiar with the choice said.

The Obama transition office said no final decision has been reached. "No one has been offered the job as attorney general," said Obama transition spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter.

As a surrogate for the Obama campaign, Holder appeared at a meeting of more than 100 police chiefs before the election, promising more federal resources to combat violent crime.

Early in his career, Holder worked as a public corruption prosecutor in the years following the Watergate scandal.

Jamie S. Gorelick, who served as the department's second in command during the Clinton administration, this afternoon offered praise for the choice.

"He will be excellent: Eric has the perfect background for the job -- having grown up as a lawyer at DoJ and having served as a judge -- as well as an excellent and long-standing relationship with the president-elect," Gorelick said. "He will be able to restore the values and morale of the department at this critical juncture."
