I know it is a little early, but we are headed out to Denver tomorrow morning to spend the holidays with Oscen's family. We are driving and nervously looking at the weather forecast Hi

I probably won't be back online until we get back so I wanted to wish all my friends here at the Hidden Mission and wonderful and safe holiday.

Merry Christmas Sarafina,
...or politically correct...
happy holidays!

Go Houston Oilers !
Did Zebransky ever play this year?

Maybe santa will give him a chance to play before the year is out.

Merry Christmas everybody!

I've never owned snow tires in my life.

:Uni2:

:peace:
CRV should be fine without snow tires, but up in the mountains, I would argue that snowtires would be very helpful - just in case.

My pilot is still waiting to get its snows on, and heavy as it is, it slips and slides, and that is wet snow. We had powder up to our eyeballs and I'm sliding everywhere, all wheel drive, so I would highly suggest (from my survivalist point of view) to think about getting them on. However, it is costly and you don't live in a snow area, so drive carefully if you don't have snow tires. Drive carefully anyway.

I have gone neutral, downhill, backwards, in pitch black, snowing hard, with two small children in the backseat, driving my honda odyssey, on the side of a winding mountain road. Aint fun. Had to do that because my front wheel drive couldn't make it up the mountainside to my house. Luckily my husband was home and had the subaru drive down to save us. Odyssey stayed overnight in the valley. After I did that a few too many times (I mean, going neutral downhill pitch black several times per attempt to get home) my husband finally said, time to get an SUV. I miss the Odyssey, but I don't miss not making it up the damn road. I have been stuck more times than I need to. And I had to put that thing in 2nd gear to do it.

Drive carefully, Serafina!
Merry Christmas, sarafina and Oscen!
(Watch out if it's snowing when you go thru jOklahoma--they don't know how to drive on snow here. Hell, they go nuts driving when it rains, too.)

Thanks, yoose guys.

We are loaded up and ready to head out early tomorrow morning - it's around an 18-hr drive - longer if the weather slows us down which looks very likely.

We decided to make all of our gifts this year (except for a computer upgrade for my son) and I thought it would be less stressful because we wouldn't be spending as much money. But we traded the money stress for worrying about finishing them on time Applause
You are a wonderful friend Sarafina... what a drive-18 hours is an ovary buster for sure. I've just finished with mine and will be mailing them off tomorrow morning... Rotatingheart Rotatingheart Rotatingheart (just for the colors ok?)

Now I'm sitting here before the fire
The empty room, the forest choir
The flames that could not get any higher...

Outside my door a full shining moon
is making the woods are alive tonight
I can hear deep in some ancient grove
the revelers of this night..
they join me sending out a wish
from my heart/hearth to yours..

That this love carry you and yours
this winter solstice day and
through out the coming year...

Drive safe, Sarafina!

I think we got part of the weather you drove through. It's mighty blizzardy (might not be an accepted verbage, but it'll do), outside and it's supposed to be bone-chillin' cold later.

May you all have a wonderful, safe, happy holiday season.
Mistletoes and stuffed stockings for everyone!

A very Merry Christmas to all!
God bless us everyone.

Orbit: I hate crapmas, and even I liked the tree picture Cheers
My neighbor kid just strung 3 strands of different colors around his big window frame and it looks so pretty he's leaving them up all the time. Just the right amount of light and color... those tiny ones. The purple is more like this, like a fuschia but the red is a good red and the blue makes it all work together.

I tried out some bread dough today that you buy in chunks, let thaw and then rise for a pre Xmas dinner run... they took a long time to rise but they were really yummy. A big pot of potato soup and those rolls with blackberry jam made a good dinner while we decorated our tree and admired our lights.
Yummy. I have no kitchen of my own, so I'm stuck with what can be warmed up in a microwave or tiny toaster oven that sucks and doesn't stay hot. The new house has a gas stove (YAY!!) and how I've missed being able to cook on gas. Wok stir-fries again.
QO:

There are lots of good things about Christmas, too!
Matter of being sensible and choosing wisely, whatever
you believe!

All the family got together yesterday, including a hamster,
"Polo".

Enjoy All!

PS:

I've included my 3D xtree signature below this time, if you can manage parallel viewing!
(The dark image in the animated pic is the tree lit up by candlelight, but the
mobile phone camera couldn't pick up the nice soft glow!)

stop it uni! You look like you need some treat to eat... I love the xmas season, that's when good food I like to eat goes on good sales. I try to think of the future and buy several turkeys and spiral cut hams etc... and the next one who smacks their lips over the friendly little white tailed buck that comes right up to our window's going to get...some of this glitter garland wrapped around their hands!
We made it! I am on my son's new computer - he is still asleep from staying up late playing his new XBOX 360 video game. We opened presents early since we are leaving the day after Christmas and I wanted my son to enjoy his stuff while he was here.

Our 18-hour drive turned into 21 because of the weather. We were heading into some of the worst weather in the country - a heavy blizzard btw Oklahoma City and Salina Kansas and Oscen's brother called and told us we better bail off I-35 and head west. We had just hit the southern boundary of the snow storm just south of Oklahoma City and decided to take I-40 to Amarillo. It took us 2 hours to make it to the west side of town - about 20 miles - because there were so many wrecks and cars in the ditches. Once we headed west we drove out of it in about 50 miles. Raton Pass in New Mexico was clear also. It had been closed the day before but they got it clear and sanded and opened back up.

The weather looks ok going back on Wed so far.

I love the dancing kitties! And yes - this beats working any day!!!!

I am going to cook the cornbread for the dressing and apple pie tonight Applause
oh so you have a birthday too-just like Mother Mary! yikes, white knuckle driving in heavy snow and the scary ice.

bravo-goat woman! you and Oscen made it through of course! I have a hard time getting dough to rise.. I even left them on top of the stove with the oven on 300 yesterday... why does that happen when you follow the recipe and directions? took them about 4 hours to rise instead of the 1 or 2... I better get my xmas ones out and ready for action today if we want them to dunk in our gravy tomorrow!

Is your son doing online Halo3? My son's commercial xmas came in October when it came out. He's quite the fiend... like a midget Commander. He gets chided on his soprano voice all the time as he's barking out orders and commanding his troups. By the big guys. The grown men... who can barely keep up with the 13 year olds. lol

The other big hit this season is Guitar Heroes... that one is under the... decorations. We have 3 kittens and a wild big pup in the house, I chose not to go there with a tree... lol
Your yeast could be too old, or not enough sugar to feed it or temp - yeast can be finicky sometimes.

Youngest got Gear of War - he got Halo 3 and the XBox 360 (Halo version, of course) to go with it on his birthday in October and he plays it online also.

We went to the store to spend some of his Christmas cash he got from other relatives and he looked at Guitar Heroes but decided to wait and see if one of his friends got it to see if he liked it. He changed his mind a dozen times and finally decided to not buy anything. Oscen leaned over and whispered "he's a bad as me". Well, duh, they are both LIBRAS!!!! Lmao

Those are precious! It reminds me of the school pictures they took when my son was in band. First, the official serious ones, then they took the ones with them all mugging and in goofy poses. That's what your kitty and doggy did!

I had no idea that was a Libra trait ---
I thought it was just Don!

I will have to try to be more patient.....
