I edited out the last image, and resurrected it into 5 hexagonal petaled forms,
intertwined around a central pentagonal form ... very elaborate processing to get to this stage.
I have a larger version of this with extensions that is not sphere-ized 30%,
but decided to stick with the central core.

I'd like to see the large version to better see
how hexes morph into pent and triads.

This next uses a Menger cube + Reciprocal Y and Z transformations.
The background is Solid Noise + Small Random Deformations (a type of Perlin FBM, I think)…

Usually I use one of your fractals at about 175%,
this one had to be used at 100%,
and wow! I got the image to almost a handful of pixels under the 5000 by 5000 grid,
that my computer is comfortable with.

from your :
 Menger cube + Reciprocal Y and Z transformations.

The Menger cube was like a Chinese puzzle box
when the Reciprocal transformations were added.

I think leaving out that kind of background 
or making it more color contrasted
would look better in showing the inner mechanism.

That last one is truly intricate and intense, perhaps too congested for a recombinant geometry.
I like it a lot.
I tried this one however,
with elaborate reprocessing throughout the entire image,
with emphasis on the background colorations being manipulated to have a flow.
Image needs to be viewed also flipped upside down,]
for full perspectives.

I was also watching The Ancient Aliens
so what I saw were multi-armed Hindu gods 
within dark cave openings.

It appears that if I choose to use a smaller image of yours,
I lose resolution in the multi layered reconfiguration processing.
In this case I may have stretched and sphereized too much of the original form,
into what I wanted with more bold 3D posture,
with the smaller size image.
I didn't want to have to go beyond 5000 x 5000 pixels,
because that is when my computer sloooooows down,
and sometimes the image just won't finish.
So I under sized it too much,
and that is definitely what made the resolution loss occur.

I will try the one 3 images back soon, in a larger size.
But the form is intereesting here in this image,
so though the resolution suffered, it was worth posting

Looking at 400% it seems softer in the middle area
compared with the outer,
yet that could also be a depth of field effect...maybe?

I did a large pentagonal one of these and it had very good resolution,
but I wanted more than just the same old pentagonal regrid.
so I had to reduce image size 50% then reconstruct,
and lost just a little resolution.
8 interconnected pentagonal stars in an octagonal reserve.

I tried to come up with something intelligent about how you constructed it
but beyond the connection areas between octagon components alternating...???

The next 2 images are the result of figuring out 
how to use any image as a background in an M3D formula,
plus it adds a 3D projection which can be x,y,z rotated independently
of whatever formula is used...

Not sure what you mean.
In that one you have to make the pentagonal grid reconstruction first,
and that will be a 5000 by 5000 pixel image.
Then image size is reduced 50%.
Then you have to eyeball the perfect octagonal splice cut,
out of the full pentagonal grid,
that will offer an ... entanglement.
Then reconstruct that into a full octagon.
Sometimes you hit a home run in the finished product,
sometimes it just falls flat and dies.

is outrageous -- fantastic art.
I want to work that one when I can.

I have been swamped and wasted.
still was putting in 8-10 hours a day 6 days a week in the home repair mode,
then the forest fire smoke from hell just about killed me the last three days.
Only could work maybe 2-4 hours a day,
the rest was survival.
No desire to do anything anywhere in these conditions, the smoke wastes your health away fast.
I have interior filtration - HEPA - but no air conditioning,
and the house is still 80 degrees inside at 8 oclock PM.
You either fry in the heat indoors and ou, or let the smoke in at night to cool the place down.
We get a break for a few days with new weather.
It is as bad as bad gets.   Cry  Whip

reconstructing your image didn't retain the uniqueness of the character of the object,
your fractal programming created.
Nonetheless here is the result, 
aother try at pentagons trapped in an octagonal reserve.
I missed the accuracy of an early splice, so there are some minor flaws.

I'm experimenting with a "DucksIFS" formula.
Using it alone is very slow
but yesterday I found out that hybridizing it
with a "New MengerIFS" causes Ducks to massively speed up
with no loss of detail !

This next is a DucksIFS+(New Menger+Menger1)IFS.
Plain/un-gimped but reveals the 3D nature of the background
which can apparently be drastically increased...

That's a great one,
and the central feature looks like an anomaly in a scanning electron microscope image,
10-20 microns
The highly angular features remind me of SEM images of botryoidal diopside fracture surfaces.
