CNN Boss Jeff Zucker Eyed By Disney For Top ESPN Job

EXCLUSIVE UPDATED: A month after John Skipper’s abrupt resignation as president of ESPN and co-chairman of Disney Media Networks, a surprising name has entered the field of potential successors: CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker.

John Skipper Resigns As ESPN President; Admits Substance Abuse Problem; George Bodenheimer...
Reps at Disney could not be reached for comment, but multiple sources close to Zucker confirmed to Deadline that he has had conversations for the top job at the sports giant.
[Image: espn_logo__120625190844-200x55.jpg?w=605]
Following Skipper’s shocking December 18 announcement that he was resigning to deal with a substance abuse problem, George Bodenheimer — ESPN’s president from 1998-2011 and its executive chairman until May 2014 — took over as the acting chairman of the company for 90 days to help Iger find Skipper’s replacement.

There have been internal and external candidates rumored to be candidates for the job in the past month including ESPN EVPs Connor Schell and Justin Connolly, and Consumer Products and Interactive Media Chairman James Pitaro, who is well regarded internally and previously oversaw the development of Yahoo Sports.
Zucker, whose current CNN contract I hear is up at the end of the year, is an intriguing proposition. He has a higher profile than any of the other potential candidates. He was able to reverse CNN’s linear ratings declines even before the Donald Trump-fueled political coverage ratings bonanza. He also successfully built the cable news network’s digital brand, overseeing a big online expansion.
Those are things Disney wants to see ESPN achieve. The network’s subscriber losses have been dragging down Disney’s stock price, even though prime time viewership is up. Disney also has been looking to better monetize ESPN and its programming in a multi-platform universe, including via a recently announced ESPN-branded OTT service.
In addition to spearheading CNN’s ratings resurgence, Zucker has been able to grow a slew of media stars, turning Don Lemon, Jake Tapper and Chris Cuomo into household names.
Zucker actually started his media career in sports, as a researcher for NBC’s coverage of the 1988 Summer Olympics. His brief stint landed him a job as a producer on Today where he subsequently became executive producer, leading the NBC morning program to its 16-year ratings dominance. He later served as president of NBC Entertainment, helping make Trump a TV star with The Apprentice, before ascending to CEO of NBCUniversal until the company was acquired by Comcast.
Zucker has worked at Disney before — he did a brief stint as executive producer on the short-lived Katie Couric syndicated talk show before taking the top job at CNN.
While at CNN, Zucker has clashed repeatedly with now-President Trump, who often has attacked CNN for its coverage he has dubbed “fake news.” With the AT&T-Time Warner merger in regulatory limbo — in part because of CNN, whose sale the Justice Department has demanded to approve any deal — sources have indicated Zucker may have grown restless, looking for a new opportunity after five years at the cable news network.
Still, Zucker is said to love his current post and does not want it to appear he’s lost the standoff with Trump, but a source noted that he always has wanted to do something in sports, and ESPN is an enormous job — bigger than CNN — and an opportunity he may not be able to pass up.

Starbucks CEO: China is the long-term growth opportunity for us   1 Hour Ago | 03:58
[url=https://www.cnbc.com/video/2018/01/26/starbucks-ceo-china-is-the-long-term-growth-opportunity-for-us.html]

Shares of Starbucks were trading down nearly 5 percent Friday after the coffee chain posted another quarter of disappointing sales growth as holiday offerings failed to draw in customers.
Same-store sales came up short in all of the company's regions, Starbucks said late Thursday. However, growth in China was robust, with same-store sales rising 6 percent on the back of a 6 percent increase in transactions.
"China grew revenues 30 percent in Q1, with the strategic acquisition of East China positioning us to accelerate our growth in the key China market," Kevin Johnson, president and CEO, said in a statement.
  • Adjusted EPS: 58 cents ex. items vs. 57 cents expected according to Thomson Reuters
  • Revenue: $6.07 billion compared to $6.18 billion projected, according to Thomson Reuters
  • Overall same-store sales: Up 2 percent vs 3 percent growth projected, according to StreetAccount
In the quarter ended Dec. 31, Starbucks said net income rose to $2.25 billion, or $1.57 per share, from $751.8 million, or 51 cents per share, a year ago.
Excluding items, Starbucks earned 58 cents per share in the latest period, which was a penny better than analysts were expecting. Not included in that number is a 7 cents per share benefit from changes in the U.S. tax law.
The company said that global same-store sales rose 2 percent in the quarter, however forecasts had called for same-store sales to be up 3 percent, according to StreetAccount. This is the fifth quarter in a row that global same-store sales have been positive, but the company has missed analyst expectations in this metric by 70 basis points or more.
In the U.S., same-store sales grew 2 percent driven by a 2 percent increase in the average check size.
Johnson attributed disappointing U.S. sales to weak sales of holiday beverages, merchandise and gift cards.
"Holiday [limited time offers] and merchandise did not resonate with out customers as planned," he said on an earnings conference call Thursday. "To be more specific, in Q1, our food comp was 2 percent. Our core beverage comp, excluding holiday limited time offers was 1 percent. And together our holiday LTO and lobby items had a negative impact of over 1 point of comp."
During the holidays, Starbucks had offered seasonal flavors such as an Eggnog Latte and Chestnut Praline Chai Tea Latte, among others.
Starbucks hopes to bolster sales in the U.S. by luring in customers in the afternoon with discounts and promotions. It also plans on continuing to leverage mobile ordering and digital marketing to increase the number of times consumers visit the coffee shop.
Starbucks said it added 1.4 million Starbucks Rewards members in the U.S. in the last quarter, raising its total number of members to 14.2 million.

Casino Mogul Steve Wynn Accused of Sexual Misconduct Spanning Decades

by Breitbart News26 Jan 20181,258
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Wynn Resorts is denying multiple allegations of sexual harassment and assault by founder Steve Wynn, detailed in a Wall Street Journal report that sent shares of the casino tumbling 9 percent Friday.
The paper reported that a number of women say they were harassed or assaulted by the casino mogul and finance chair of the Republican National Committee.
One case led to a $7.5 million settlement with a manicurist. The detailed report relies on interviews with dozens of people whom corroborate a decades-long pattern of sexual misconduct with female employees.
The company says it is committed to operating with the “highest ethical standards and maintaining a safe and respectful culture.” In a printed statement sent to The Associated Press, the company said the allegations are part of a smear campaign related to divorce proceedings from Wynn’s ex-wife.
Wynn denied the allegations personally.
Wynn, who is chairman and CEO of the company he founded, is a titan in Las Vegas and played a major role in the revitalization of the Las Vegas Strip in the 1990s. It was Wynn’s company that built the Golden Nugget, The Bellagio and Mirage Resorts in the heart of the town.
In a lengthy statement, Wynn and his company both attribute the allegations to a campaign lead by Wynn’s ex-wife, Elaine Wynn.
“The conduct of Elaine during the course of the pending lawsuits has been shocking and deeply disturbing to me personally and as the CEO of Wynn Resorts,” Wynn said.
Quote:Don't Gamble with a Casino Proprietor.
In its reporting, The Wall Street Journal stated that none of the alleged victims reached out to the publication. Instead, the newspaper said it sought out more than 150 people who had worked for Wynn, many of whom did not want to go on record for fear of losing their jobs.
The newspaper reported that Wynn’s actions were well known enough that employees would sometimes enter fake appointments in the books to help other female workers avoid him. In some cases, female employees in the salon would hide in back rooms if they knew Wynn was on his way to the casino.
Wynn resorts said there has never been a complaint made about Wynn to the company’s independent hotline for anti-harassment.

BREAKING: Congress investigating Mueller “pit bull” investigator Andrew Weissmann for media leaks. Weissmann held April 11 private presser w major media–week before CNN, WaPo,NYT reported FISA on Page bolstered by dossier

Andrew Weissmann, who is on detail from the Criminal Division’s Fraud Section and who has served as general counsel at the FBI and as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York. — Weissmann donated $2,300 to the Obama Victory Fund in 2008, $2,000 to the DNC in 2006 and at least $2,300 to the Clinton campaign in 2007.

Weissmann was caught praising then-acting Attorney General Sally Yates for defying President Trump’s travel ban. Yates was subsequently fired by President Trump for insubordination.

House investigators were given access to all unredacted documents and witnesses they had sought under a deal between Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) and Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein, Catherine Herridge of Fox News reported in early January.

Among the eight witnesses the House investigators will have access to is Trump-hating FBI agent Peter Strzok, his mistress Lisa Page and Mueller’s ‘pit bull’ Andrew Weissmann.

Andrew Weissmann is dirty cop Robert Mueller’s right hand man and was described as the Special Counsel’s “pit bull” by The New York Times.

We have known all along that someone has been leaking tidbits of the Mueller investigation to the press. This is criminal. Mueller’s entire team is full of Deep State liberal hacks who have been fiercely working to overthrow a duly elected president.

Scarborough: Only ‘Very Very Stupid’ People Think Trump Won’t Be Charged With Obstruction
Issues plea directly to House Speaker Paul Ryan asking him to somehow prevent secret FIA memo release

On Monday, Joe Scarborough ratcheted up the rhetoric against President Trump’s supporters and allies who question the validity of the Mueller investigation.
In an emotional outburst the likes of which Morning Joe viewers have come to expect from the show’s host, Scarborough explicitly insulted those who might question the efficacy of the case against the President: “Anybody that writes an op-ed and suggests that Donald Trump has not put himself directly in the target of an obstruction charge is just fooling themselves and some very, very stupid, ill-informed readers.”
Scarborough’s agitation may have been due to the upcoming vote in the House Intelligence Committee on whether to release the controversial memo written by Committee Chairman Devin Nunes.

It's not how you play the game, but how the dice were made
January 30, 2018 by Karen Nikos-Rose, UC Davis

14th century medieval dice from the Netherlands recovered during an excavation in the 1990s. Credit: Jelmer Eerkens, UC Davis
Whether at a casino playing craps or engaging with family in a simple board game at home, rolling the dice introduces a bit of chance or "luck" into every game. We expect dice to be fair, where every number has equal probability of being rolled.
[Image: three-amigos-mueller-comey-rosenstein.jp...200&crop=1]
But a new study shows this was not always the case. In Roman times, many dice were visibly lopsided, unlike today's perfect cubes. And in early medieval times, dice were often "unbalanced" in the arrangement of numbers, where 1 appears opposite 2, 3 opposite 4, and 5 opposite 6. It did not matter what the objects were made of (metal, clay, bone, antler and ivory), or whether they were precisely symmetrical or consistent in size or shape, because, like the weather, rolls were predetermined by gods or other supernatural elements.
Renaissance brings change
[Image: 12192017_beltway-trump18201_c0-0-1037-60...d56560a70e]
All that began to change around 1450, when dice makers and players seemingly figured out that form affected function, explained Jelmer Eerkens, University of California, Davis, professor of anthropology and the lead author of a recent study on dice.
"A new worldview was emerging—the Renaissance. People like Galileo and Blaise Pascal were developing ideas about chance and probability, and we know from written records in some cases they were actually consulting with gamblers," he said. "We think users of dice also adopted new ideas about fairness, and chance or probability in games."
Standardization comes into play

"Standardizing the attributes of a die, like symmetry and the arrangement of numbers, may have been one method to decrease the likelihood that an unscrupulous player had manipulated the dice to change the odds of a particular roll," Eerkens said.

Dice are not common finds in archaeological sites. They are typically found in garbage, domestic areas, or cemeteries, and frequently are recovered as lone objects in a site, Eerkens said. Many are not accurately dated.

After looking at hundreds of dice in dozens of museums and archaeological depots across the Netherlands, Eerkens and his co-author, Alex de Voogt, of the American Museum of Natural History, New York, were able to assemble and analyze a set of 110 carefully dated, cube-shaped dice. Their findings were published in the journal Acta Archaeologica in December.

Professor Jelmer Eerkens, University of California, Davis, measures a modern die. Credit: Jelmer Eerkens, UC Davis
The researchers found that:

—Dice made before 400, or in Roman times, are highly variable in shape, size, material and configuration of numbers.

—Dice are very rare between 400 and 1100, corresponding to the Dark Ages.
—When dice reappear around 1100 they are predominantly in the "primes" configuration, where opposite numbers tally to prime numbers (1-2; 3-4; 5-6), a numbering style that was also popular in ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt. Early medieval dice also tend to be quite small relative to their Roman predecessors.
—Around 1450 the numbering system quickly changed to "sevens" where opposite sides add up to seven (6-1; 5-2; 3-4). Dice also became highly standardized in shape, and also were made larger again. Standardization may be, in part, a byproduct of mass production.
Eerkens said he studied dice because they are a convenient item in which to isolate the function from the style, as opposed to other artifacts found in archaeological sites, such as arrowheads, a functional item used for hunting. "A lot of artifacts we study as archaeologists conflate the two... . We know for dice they are purely stylistic."
The study also shows that dice, like many material objects, reflect a lot about people's changing worldviews, Eerkens said.
"In this case, we believe it follows changing ideas about chance and fate."

The researchers conclude in their article, "Gamblers may have seen dice throws as no longer determined by fate, but instead as randomizing objects governed by chance."

“Watch closely for Barack Obama’s fingerprints,” said Rep. Steve King (R-IA) on Saturday, suggesting the recent alleged partisan weaponization of state surveillance powers could be connected to the 44th president. “[Democrats and their allies] will defend Barack Obama at all costs, and they’ll defend Hillary Clinton almost at all costs unless they have to sacrifice her to protect Barack Obama,” he added.
King offered his remarks during an interview with Breitbart News’s Deputy Political Editor Amanda House on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Saturday.

Stephen King claimed this week’s fatal train crash, which was carrying Republican congressmen and killed one person, was “karma” in a post on Twitter, Thursday.
“A trainload of Republicans on their way to a pricey retreat hit a garbage truck. My friend Russ calls that karma,” King declared, receiving over 6,000 likes.
An Amtrak train carrying dozens of Republican members of Congress and staff crashed into a truck, killing one person and injuring others. Christopher Foley, 28, the passenger of the garbage truck that hit the train, died from his injuries.

Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ), Rep, Thomas Massie (R-KY), and Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) were all on the train as it crashed.
King, a prominent left-wing activist in Hollywood, has been a vocal critic of President Trump — demanding his removal from office last year.

The National Transportation Safety Board said it was launching a "Go Team" to investigate the deadly crash.

President Trump tweeted about the crash on Sunday, saying "my thoughts and prayers are with all of the victims involved in this mornings train collision in South Carolina. Thank you to our incredible First Responders for the work they’ve done!"

Trump was briefed on the train accident and is receiving regular updates, according to Deputy White House Press Secretary Lindsay Walters.
This is the third Amtrak crash since December. On Dec. 18, an Amtrak train derailed in Washington state, killing three people and injuring dozens more. Just last week, one persion in a truck died when an Amtrak crash carrying Republican members of Congress struck the vehicle at a crossing. Two other people in the vehicle were severely injured.

Accused serial killer’s methods eerily match Stephen King story

In Stephen King’s macabre short story “The Lawnmower Man,” a sex-crazed landscaper murders and dismembers the suburban homeowner who hires him to cut his overgrown lawn.

The tale ends when detectives arrive and end up trying to gather up the victim’s remains, which are scattered in a backyard birdbath and throughout the expanse of freshly mown grass.
While King’s story is the stuff of fiction, a real-life version seems to be playing amid the manicured lawns and neat flower boxes of Canada’s largest city, where officials are digging for human remains after the arrest of a landscape contractor last month.
Bruce McArthur, 66, was charged in Toronto with the murder of five men. Police say that they may be dealing with a serial killer, and that there may be many more victims.

Standardization comes into play

"Standardizing the attributes of a die, like symmetry and the arrangement of numbers, may have been one method to decrease the likelihood that an unscrupulous player had manipulated the dice to change the odds of a particular roll," Eerkens said.[Image: chy101-the-canadian-press.jpg]

Dice are not common finds in archaeological sites. They are typically found in garbage, domestic areas, or cemeteries, and frequently are recovered as lone objects in a site, Eerkens said. Many are not accurately dated. According to this source, dice was once the plural of die, “but in modern standard English dice is both the singular and the plural: 'throw the dice' could mean a reference to either one or more than one dice.”

Amtrak train breaks apart at 125 mph

By Danielle Furfaro  February 6, 2018 | 12:36pm | Updated

A high-speed Amtrak train bound for Penn Station broke apart as it was cruising through Maryland on Tuesday, sources told The Post.
Modal TriggerA high-speed Amtrak train bound for Penn Station broke apart as it was moving at top speed through Maryland.
The 2150 Acela was traveling from Washington, DC, to the Big Apple when the incident happened at about 6:30 a.m. The train was traveling at about 125 mph, according to the source.
“Someone could have been walking through the train when that happened and fell to their death,” said the source.
Amtrak officials confirmed the incident and said there were 52 passengers aboard at the time.
A photo shows the connector between two coupled trains broken and separated. Only the air hoses remained connected between the two cars, which both had passengers in them, said the source.

“There was a lot of sparking and smoking at the head of the train and a lot of bouncing around,” the source said.
A rescue train pulled up next to the crippled Acela and took the passengers to Philadelphia, where they then got on other trains to continue on to New York City.
There were no injuries, said Amtrak officials, who added that they are investigating the incident.
“We are currently investigating the cause of the car separation, inspecting every Acela trainset, and taking any necessary actions to prevent a reoccurrence,” said Amtrak spokesman Jason Abrams.
The incident happened just two days after an Amtrak train traveling through South Carolina slammed into the back of a freight train, killing two workers. And last week, an Amtrak train carrying several members of Congress slammed into a garbage truck in Virginia.

Though Democrats were unable to secure complete parity in domestic spending alongside the big boost in military dollars, they were quick to note the agreement includes $20 billion for infrastructure, $5.8 billion for child care and $6 billion to fight opioid addiction. The bill also includes a two-year extension of expired Community Health Centers funding and a 10-year extension of Children's Health Insurance Plan funding.

Congressional leaders on Wednesday clinched a two-year deal to lift strict budget caps on defense and domestic spending, likely putting an end to a series of short-term spending bills and shutdown fights that have defined Washington the past few months.
The deal is expected to increase defense and domestic spending by roughly $300 billion over two years, according to administration and congressional sources, as well as lift the debt ceiling through the election and include tens of billions in disaster aid.

"This bill is the product of extensive negotiations among congressional leaders and the White House. No one thinks this bill is perfect. But we worked hard to find common ground and stay focused on serving the American people," Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said in announcing the agreement.
"The budget deal doesn’t have everything Democrats want. It doesn’t have everything the Republicans want. But it has a great deal of what the American people want," said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.). "After months of legislative logjams, this budget deal is a genuine breakthrough."

The Senate is expected vote on the pact on Thursday, according to Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas). It's likely to pass easily, but House approval will be a tougher lift.
And though President Donald Trump suggested that the government could shut down without action on immigration, a top White House aide signaled that Trump supports the bill.
“I’m not going to say every piece of it. But obviously, we’re excited about the defense numbers," said Marc Short, the White House legislative director.
Trump tweeted in support of the deal a few hours later.
"The Budget Agreement today is so important for our great Military," he wrote. "It ends the dangerous sequester and gives Secretary Mattis what he needs to keep America Great. Republicans and Democrats must support our troops and support this Bill!"
The agreement would increase defense spending this year by $80 billion and domestic spending by $63 billion beyond strict budget caps, according to a summary of the deal obtained by POLITICO. Next year, defense spending would increase by $85 billion and domestic funding by $68 billion beyond the caps. The deal also includes $140 billion for defense and $20 billion for domestic in emergency spending over two years.
A plan to lift the debt limit, which requires action in the coming weeks, and whether to extend expiring tax provisions were among the few outstanding issues that could be attached to the deal, according to aides in both parties familiar with the talks. Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) said the debt ceiling is likely to be suspended through next March in tandem with the budget deal. Cornyn said nearly $90 billion of disaster aid for wildfires and hurricane damage will also be included.
In order for such a large package to be passed before funding expires, all 100 senators will need to agree to speedy action on the spending bill and budget package. Any one senator can object to moving forward and derail the leaders’ plan, though McConnell said it was unlikely that the budget deal would fall apart at this late stage.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who opposes the deal, said he hadn't decided whether he would deny a swift vote — and potentially cause a government shutdown.
McConnell briefed the Senate GOP on the contours of the deal at a party lunch Wednesday, and House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) also read in his members across the Capitol. Both GOP leaders faced pushback, but allies exuded confidence the budget deal will be on Trump's desk by Thursday evening.
"The House, and Republicans in the Senate and some Democrats in the Senate, are totally committed to increasing defense. And you weren't going to increase defense successfully without a big increase in nondefense," Blunt said.

"I've got mixed feelings," said Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.). “This has been a hard-fought negotiation. I think our leadership really worked hard. It’s obviously not our leadership’s first preference. But we had to work it out with the other side."
Support from GOP defense hawks, especially in the House, will be critical to passing the bill. Senate Armed Services Chairman John McCain (R-Ariz.) — at home in Arizona while being treated for brain cancer — and House Armed Services Chairman Mac Thornberry (R-Texas) came out strongly in support of the package.
"This budget agreement is indispensable for our national security," the two Republicans said in a joint statement. "Without it, our military would not be able to defend our nation, as Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis and our military leaders have repeatedly warned."
However, the negotiations hit a major snag on Wednesday: House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said she cannot support any budget agreement without a commitment from Ryan to vote on an immigration bill to protect immigrants covered under the Deferred Action for Child Arrivals program.
Still, both McConnell and Schumer are bullish about success. The two leaders, along with Ryan and Pelosi, have been engaged in high-level spending talks for weeks.
If all goes to plan, the Senate will amend a short-term spending bill passed by the House to include the deal to lift strict budget caps and send the package back for the House’s approval before a Thursday night deadline to fund the government. House Democrats moved their annual retreat from Maryland’s Eastern Shore to the Capitol in anticipation of having to vote on the Senate’s plan.
Hard-line GOP conservatives in the House Freedom Caucus oppose the deal, meaning that Ryan will need some votes from Pelosi. But many Republicans are expected to back it.
"There’s substantial support within our caucus. So I don’t think we’ll need that many Democrat votes," said Rep. Hal Rogers (R-Ky.).

Pelosi holds the floor to talk immigration

Pelosi is facing pressure from some of her rank-and-file members — as well as progressive groups — to reject a budget caps agreement unless Trump and the Republicans agree to a legislative fix for Dreamers. After surveying her caucus, she implored Ryan on the House floor to "Let Congress work its will. What are you afraid of?"
"Without a commitment from Speaker Ryan comparable to the commitment from Leader McConnell, this package does not have my support," Pelosi said. McConnell promised to hold a floor debate on various Dreamers proposals later this month as long as the government remains open.
Ryan has said he would bring up a Dreamers deal if Trump signs off on it.
"We've been very clear about this," Ryan said at a news conference earlier this week. "We will take a bill that the president supports."

Justin Trudeau’s Chief Adviser Triggered by Infowars Video
Claims people who make fun of Canadian Prime Minister are “nazis”
Paul Joseph Watson | Infowars.com - February 8, 2018 439 Comments
[Image: butts.jpg]

The chief adviser for Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was triggered by an Infowars video which made fun of Trudeau for his “peoplekind” comment, with the official labeling critics of Trudeau “Alt-Right” nazis.
The video, which was posted last night and can be viewed below, lampoons Trudeau for his now infamous remark in which he told an audience that they shouldn’t use the word “mankind” because it isn’t inclusive enough and that “peoplekind” should be used instead.
The video also highlights Trudeau’s other gaffes, including when the self-proclaimed male feminist elbowed a woman in the chest. It also questions why Trudeau is so eager to express his love for Muslims while his own government arms Saudi Arabia to the teeth, a country that is mercilessly bombing Muslims, including children, in Yemen.
Gerald Butts, a senior political adviser to Trudeau and also the Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary, reacted to the video by having something of an online temper tantrum which he tried to disguise as a defiant rebuttal. Doh
“The lesson to take from this joke being torqued by Infowars and other alt-right nazi friends of the Rebel is they’re paying attention. Game on, #TeamTrudeau,” tweeted Butts in response to another user sending him a link to the video.
https://twitter.com/gmbutts/status/961573323112112129

Journalist Piers Morgan, who wrote a column about Trudeau’s bizarre comment, shot back at Butts.
Rebel Media owner Ezra Levant also chimed in on Butt’s incredible stupidity.
“Trudeau’s flack says if you laughed at the peoplekind gaffe you’re a Nazi. So, the Washington Post & BBC? Trivializing the Holocaust to protect Trudeau isn’t a good look but these are the people who paid $10.5M to Omar Khadr and “forgot” to mention Jews on the Holocaust memorial,” he tweeted.
Respondents in the thread also called out Butts for his incredibly silly reductionism.

Rofl
“Everyone I don’t like is a Nazi,” joked one.
“Amusing watching Justin Trudeau’s handler @gmbutts taking a temper tantrum as he attacks people because they are laughing at Justin Trudeau’s stupidity. No putting that genie back in the bottle,” added another.
“Butts finally figures out how badly Trudeau was damaged by his #PeopleKind comment, thrashes about screaming “Nazis” because he can’t do anything else,” remarked Dean Skoreyko.
Our advice to Mr. Butts, given that he is Trudeau’s senior adviser, would be to stop getting so *Butts-hurt* over YouTube videos and to start figuring out how he intends to reverse The Canadian PM’s sagging poll numbers.
Having led the Conservatives by 10 points before Christmas, that gap is now down to just three points, with the Liberals bouncing from scandal to scandal as Trudeau’s appeal begins to fade.
Now watch the video that caused the firestorm.

LIMBAUGH: Infowars Articles Withheld From Trump By Departed WH Aide Porter
Radio host recalls Porter’s role in suppressing Infowars in White House

Former White House aide Rob Porter, who recently resigned amidst controversy regarding alleged spousal abuse, played a key role in the suppression of information to President Trump – namely, articles published by Infowars.
While delving into the on-going firestorm surrounding Porter, radio host Rush Limbaugh recalled that the departed White House secretary had worked closely under Chief of Staff John Kelly in enacting new policies designed to restrict which news stories and media reports were passed on to the President.

Scroll to 1:26:25 for audio segment.
“He’s been credited with working with the chief of staff to control the flow of information to the president,” Limbaugh said. “And what that means is that Trump gets less Breitbart and less Infowars and more Politico and more mainstream news.”
“It used to be, according to what we’ve been told, the Oval Office door was open and you could walk in with anything you found anywhere on the internet and give it to Trump, and he’d take it for what it was and react to it. But the new chief of staff put limits on who is able to get in there.”

Investigative journalist Jack Posobiec was the first to report on this constriction of the information pipeline into the Oval Office back on August 4, 2017 – nearly three weeks before Politico or other mainstream outlets.

“Multiple sources within the White House have confirmed that Jana Toner, a member of the Presidential Personnel Office, is regularly heard publicly insulting prominent pro-Trump media figures, including former Breitbart Technology editor Milo Yiannopoulos and Infowars founder Alex Jones, Posobiec reported. “Mrs. Toner has even told White House interns that sharing content from Mr. Yiannopoulos or Mr. Jones’ Infowars on social media is grounds for dismissal.” Naughty

“One intern, who wished to remain anonymous described experiencing a ‘chilling effect’ after a PPO employee who reports directly to Mrs. Toner declared: ‘We will search through your Facebook and we will find everything,’ and, ‘If you like Milo Yiannopoulos or Alex Jones this isn’t the place for you,’  Horsepoop at the outset of the internship program.”

On August 24, Politico detailed Rob Porter’s role as a final gatekeeper of information before it reached the President’s desk.

“In a conference call last week, [Chief of Staff] Kelly initiated a new policymaking process in which just he and one other aide — White House staff secretary Rob Porter, a little-known but highly regarded Rhodes scholar who overlapped with Jared Kushner as an undergraduate at Harvard — will review all documents that cross the Resolute desk,” Politico reported. “The new system, laid out in two memos co-authored by Kelly and Porter and distributed to Cabinet members and White House staffers in recent days, is designed to ensure that the president won’t see any external policy documents, internal policy memos, agency reports and even news articles that haven’t been vetted.”
The following day, Axios – a spin-off from the same folks who created Politico – regurgitated the Politico report with the headline “John Kelly cuts down on Infowars, Charles Johnson stories.
“Some of these documents were news stories from controversial sources — including one by the internet provocateur Charles Johnson, accusing former deputy chief of staff, Katie Walsh, of leaking,” Axios reported.
Upon Walsh’s removal from her position, many ‘credible’ news agencies cited White House sources who corroborated Johnson’s bombshell report – including Fox News and the Washington Post‘s White House Bureau Chief – further validating cutting-edge journalism conducted by outlets like Johnson’s Got News and Infowars.
Within days of President Trump’s stunning election victory in November 2016, he called Infowars founder Alex Jones to personally thank him and Infowars supporters for their key role in his historic landslide win.
Trump also appeared on the Infowars broadcast during the 2016 campaign, to the great dismay of the mainstream media and D.C. swamp.
“Your reputation is amazing,” Trump told Jones. “I will not let you down.'

WatchWhite House under fire amid bombshell abuse claims against former staff secretary.

President Donald Trump, furious over the handling of domestic abuse allegations involving one of his closest aides, has spoken to confidantes about the possibility of replacing embattled Chief of Staff John Kelly, sources close to the president tell ABC News.

One confidante — longtime friend and former executive chairman of his inaugural committee, Tom Barrack — was approached to gauge his interest in the chief of staff position, a source familiar with the matter told ABC News. Barrack said he won’t take the job, the source said.
Kelly has made clear to the president in the last 24 hours that he's willing to resign in light of the president's dissatisfaction over the West Wing's handling of the allegations against former Staff Secretary Rob Porter, according to sources who have spoken with Trump and Kelly.

While Kelly’s fate is in question, sources familiar with the matter said they did not believe his departure is imminent. Kelly was seen working in the West Wing on Friday, leading his daily senior staff meeting and joining Trump in the Oval Office during an afternoon photo op.
"General Kelly has not offered his resignation to the President," White House Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley said in a statement. When asked if Kelly has expressed interest in offering his resignation, Gidley said "Not to my knowledge, no."
Several Trump confidantes reached by ABC News said the president is considering multiple names as possible Kelly replacements, among those, top economic adviser Gary Cohn, Office of Management and Budget director Mick Mulvaney and Rep. Mark Meadows.

Kelly, whose appointment as chief of staff was initially seen as an step towards restoring order and discipline, has been the subject of growing controversy over the past several weeks.
Kelly faced criticism earlier this week over comments labeling undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children as “lazy,” and received a public rebuke from President Trump after saying in an interview last month with Fox News that the president’s campaign promises regarding a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border were “uninformed.”
But it was Kelly’s management of the most recent controversy involving Staff Secretary Porter that ignited a firestorm, after the Daily Mail published multiple allegations of domestic abuse by his two ex-wives.

In response to the story, Kelly issued an on-record statement calling Porter “a man of true integrity and honor” but making no mention of the alleged victims.
Under pressure, Porter offered his resignation Wednesday afternoon. It wasn’t until late that evening, and after images of the alleged abuse were revealed, that Kelly issued a new statement saying he was “shocked by the new allegations," adding “there is no place for domestic violence in our society.”
ABC News reported that senior members of Trump's administration knew for months that there was a personal issues haunting Porter, according to multiple sources — raising questions among staffers about why he was allowed to continue in such a prominent role in the West Wing. Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah said Thursday that Kelly did not have “detailed updates about what may or may not have been alleged.”
ABC News' Alex Mallin and Meridith McGraw contributed reporting.
