2 Navy Airmen and an Object That ‘Accelerated Like Nothing I’ve Ever Seen’
Now wait a minute!     Naughty

A Blackhawk helicopter and FBI team with antenna analysts, complete blackout and shutdown, all over an internet child porn operation?  Ostensibly from a janitor's laptop?  Was someone using the antennae and equipment to beam child porn into the Sun?  And after all of this activity and publicity, why are there are no arrests or even charges?   The burdened cost of this operation has to be in the thousands, including federal, local and private costs, and still no charges?  How many other child porn busts are there every year without such high-tech intervention that actually result in arrests, charges and convictions?  Most, I will guess.  There might be more to this story.

That was well worth reading,
and so I will post the entire article for the record.

East coast encounters this time.

Quote:... five U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet crewmen,
have recounted a number of incredibly strange encounters with unidentified flying objects,
off the East Coast of the United States.
Two of the pilots went on the record.
The surreal craft they encountered had performance
that defies known propulsion Whip
and aerodynamic capabilities Whip
and are described as looking like something akin to special effects
you would have seen in a sci-fi movie circa the late 1980s.
The pilots' accounts also point to a major sensor upgrade on their aircraft
that made the presence of these craft even detectable at all.

What's even more important is that these events took place as recently as 2015,
over a decade after the now famous Nimitz incident
with the so-called 'Tic Tac' craft occurred.
This is all coming to light—at least officially—
just weeks after the U.S. Navy said it is changing its procedures for its service members
reporting unexplained phenomenon in their operating environments.

The War Zone had recently published an in-depth expose about the Navy's procedural changes,
a number of other revelations surrounding the Tic Tac incident,
and more recent developments,
that concluded that the phenomenon is indeed real  Alien2
That hard to swallow fact has huge implications, regardless of the objects' origins.

Lt. Ryan Graves, an F/A-18 Super Hornet pilot who has been in the Navy for a decade
has come forward after talking to the Navy and Congress
about the events he and his squadron mates witnessed between 2014 and 2015.
In a New York Times article published on May 26th, 2019,
Graves described how strange craft would appear in their training airspace
and persist there not for minutes, but many hours, or even days at a time.

The persistence of these craft was in no way the strangest thing about them.
Beyond being able to drop tens of thousands of feet in a matter of a second or two
and possessing flight characteristics
that are unobtainable with known technology,
the unannounced visitors looked like nothing else on the planet.

But before we get into all that,
let's rewind to how all this began and talk about a very important detail
that was largely glazed over in the New York Times piece.
Graves and another pilot who was willing to disclose his identity—Lt. Danny Accoin—

were both Naval Aviators serving in Navy Strike Fighter Squadron 11 (VFA-11),
the Red Rippers,
based out of Naval Air Station Oceana near Norfolk, Virginia.
Strange anomalies started showing up on their Super Hornets' radars in 2014,
while they were out on training maneuvers
in the vast warning areas off the Atlantic Coast between Virginia and Florida.

According to Graves,
Naval Aviators really began noticing the objects in their training areas
after a major technological leap in air combat capability
was fielded across much of the U.S. Navy's combat aircraft inventory.
Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radars.

The last paragraph there reveals a two things.
One,
the alien technology is also aware of the advanced nature of US naval upgrades.
Two,
as you read this recent news, the detection of the alien drones thus far,
is only documented off the east and west coasts of the mainland.
If land based air and naval exercises across the country interior,
do not experience the same level of contact or sightings as the sea based naval groups do,
that may indicate a nearby temporary undersea alien base.

The latest version of the alien drone is a translucent sphere surrounding a cube.

The pilots could register the drones on their upgraded radar, but could not see them.

Quote:Before the mid-2000s,
Navy tactical fighter aircraft were equipped with mechanically scanned array (MSA)
pulse doppler radar systems of varying capabilities and power outputs.
So-called 'legacy' F/A-18AC/D Hornets
were largely equipped with the AN/APG-73 radar.
This was a very capable MSA fire control radar
with multiple air-to-air, air-to-ground, and synthetic aperture ground mapping modes.
Still, it was developed based on 1980s technology,
as the vast majority of the fighter radars in service with U.S. military aircraft were at the time.

1980s technology  AN/APG-73 radar on Navy Hornets
[Image: https%3A%2F%2Fs3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com...3130174512]

Even the earlier batches of F/A-18E/F Super Hornets delivered in the first half of the 2000s
were equipped with this same radar set.
But as production of the Super Hornet matured,
the AN/APG-79 Active Electronically Scanned Array radar
was installed in place of the AN/APG-73.

It became operational on a handful of Super Hornets in 2007,
with the number of Navy fighters equipped with it slowing growing larger ever since.
Today, it is commonplace across the Navy's Super Hornet and Growler fleets.
Also, a diverse array of older aircraft,
including the legacy Hornet and even the B-52 Stratofortress
are now being back-fitted with modular AESA radar sets,
breathing new life into older airframes.

The AN/APG-79, and other AESA radars like it on fighter aircraft,

offer a huge leap in capability in virtually every respect.
This included a massive improvement in reliability,
as a steerable radar dish is no longer needed with electronically scanned arrays.
Mechanically scanned arrays have to quickly sweep in all directions physically,
and even under heavy G forces and buffeting,
and they have to survive crashing down on a carrier deck after missions over and over.
So, migrating to a system with few moving parts,
was a massive coup in terms of reliability for Navy fighters.

The AN/APG-79
[Image: https%3A%2F%2Fs3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com...ce248510ea]

In addition to better readiness, and more importantly,
the AN/APG-79's resolution, range, speed of scan, simultaneous tracking,
and target discrimination abilities are drastically improved over its predecessor.

Even the ability to operate in air-to-air and air-to-ground modes at the same time
has been introduced. In addition, advanced software and processing that interprets what the more sensitive radar 'sees' provides a higher quality end product to Super Hornet crews,
resulting in dramatically improved situational awareness.

All this means that AESA equipped fighters can see farther,

better understand what was being detected,
and have a hugely enhanced ability to see detect objects flying low over surface clutter.
Even small or low observable (stealthy),
or slow-moving targets,
or those that attempt to hide in the 'doppler notch'
of a threatening fighter's radar by flying perpendicular to it,
have a tougher time eluding detection and engagement,
when facing opposition fighters packing AESA radar sets.

With all that being said, apparently,
this same leap in sensor technology also lifted the curtain,
so to speak,
when it came to detecting UFOs flying near Navy fighters while on training missions.

The New York Times writes:

Quote:The pilots began noticing the objects after their 1980s-era radar
was upgraded to a more advanced system.
As one fighter jet after another got the new radar,
pilots began picking up the objects,
but ignoring what they thought were false radar tracks.

“People have seen strange stuff in military aircraft for decades,”
Lieutenant Graves said.
“We’re doing this very complex mission,
to go from 30,000 feet, diving down.
It would be a pretty big deal to have something up there.”

But he said the objects persisted,
showing up at 30,000 feet,
20,000 feet,
even sea level.
They could accelerate,
slow down and then hit hypersonic speeds.

Lieutenant Accoin said he interacted twice with the objects.
The first time, after picking up the object on his radar,
he set his plane to merge with it, flying 1,000 feet below it.
He said he should have been able to see it with his helmet camera,
but could not,
even though his radar told him it was there.

A few days later,
Lieutenant Accoin said a training missile on his jet Naughty
locked on the object and his infrared camera picked it up as well.
“I knew I had it, I knew it was not a false hit,”
he said.
But still, “I could not pick it up visually.”

At this point the pilots said they speculated that the objects
were part of some classified and extremely advanced drone program.

But then pilots began seeing the objects. Hmm2
In late 2014,
Lieutenant Graves said he was back at base in Virginia Beach
when he encountered a squadron mate just back from a mission
“with a look of shock on his face.”

He said he was stunned to hear the pilot’s words.
“I almost hit one of those things,”
the pilot told Lieutenant Graves.

The pilot and his wingman were flying in tandem about 100 feet apart
over the Atlantic east of Virginia Beach
when something flew between them,
right past the cockpit. Rofl

It looked to the pilot,
Lieutenant Graves said,
like a sphere encasing a cube.

The last part is somewhat mind-blowing.

Basically, he describes a geometric cube with a translucent sphere of some sort around it.
Like I said in the opening of this piece,
this sounds like some special effects object from season one of Star Trek The Next Generation
not a craft being reported in detail
from a highly-trained Navy fighter pilot that flew right by it.
Apparently, others appeared to be spinning in mid-air like tops
and were captured by the Super Hornet's AN/ASQ-228 ATFLIR targeting pod.

After this near miss, the Red Rippers were officially spooked.
What was something of a novelty and mystery,
became a flight safety issue.
They filed an official safety report.
The New York Times continues:

Quote:The near miss,
he and other pilots interviewed said, angered the squadron,
and convinced them that the objects were not part of a classified drone program.

Government officials would know fighter pilots were training in the area, t
hey reasoned,
and would not send drones to get in the way.

“It turned from a potentially classified drone program to a safety issue,”
Lieutenant Graves said.
“It was going to be a matter of time before someone had a midair” collision.

What was strange, the pilots said,
was that the video showed objects accelerating to hypersonic speed,
making sudden stops and instantaneous turns —
something beyond the physical limits of a human crew.

“Speed doesn’t kill you,” Lieutenant Graves said. “Stopping does. Or acceleration.”
Asked what they thought the objects were, the pilots refused to speculate.

...

continued:

Quote:The squadron deployed to the Middle East in March of 2015,

and according to the pilots interviewed,

the encounters off of the southeastern coast of the U.S. ended not long after.
As for the Navy's strange public announcement,

that they were changing the reporting procedures for these types of encounters

We examined this peculiar move by the Navy
and the odd timing of it in great detail in my last article on the subject,
and this series of events likely had something to do with it.

Regardless, with all this in mind, what can we take away from these new on the record revelations?
First off, they are a huge deal.
We are talking about two more Navy fighter pilots on the record
and another three talking to The New York Times on background.

And this was not some account that occurred a decade or more in the past,
this was just a couple years ago.
Yet what strikes me the most is that once again,
this series of encounters occurred in tightly sanitized airspace over the ocean
where the military does its most advanced and complex training and testing,
just like the Nimitz's
Tic Tac incident many years earlier on the west coast.

In that case,
the gear and personnel involved were also preparing for a major deployment.
Yet what the New York Times doesn't seem to firmly drill down on enough
is that we are now getting first-hand accounts
that describe a major upgrade in radar technology
as being a catalyst for actually detecting and tracking these mysterious objects.

Much of my last piece was dedicated to the little knownfact that back in 2004,
the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group
was executing very complex and highly integrated training
prior to deployment with Cooperative Engagement Capability technology
installed on its ships and aircraft.

This was the first time this game-changing suite of sensor fusion
and data-link technologies was ever integrated into an operational Carrier Strike Group.

As a result, multiple accounts definitively state that its unique,
'fused' sensor data was confiscated after the Tic Tac incident
culminated in a number of close encounters.

Taking the recent information about the radar upgrade on the Super Hornets into account,
it adds a new facet of plausibility to the Nimitz/Tic Tac events.
The higher fidelity radar telemetry data Cooperative Engagement Capability provided,
like the introduction of AESA fire control radars on Navy fighters not long after,
may have allowed for the detection and documentation of these objects like never before.
Whether that was by design or by chance remains unknown.

These two facts—
the encounters occurring in secure military airspace off the continental U.S. coastline
and the presence of advanced,
highly capable radar systems in both series of incidents—
is compelling, to say the least.

General knowledge of the aforementioned events,

that occurred off the east coast in 2014 and 2015 is not necessarily new.
Many of us who have kept very close tabs on these developments,
have known about the sphere and cube  Sheep craft description for some time
and that a number of encounters happened in this area long after the Nimitz event in 2004.
Our good friend Danny Silva reported on the broad strokes of this story days before the New York Times piece was published via dissecting an interview with Commander David Fravor, the lead Super Hornet pilot that had the close-up encounter with the Tic Tac in 2004. Silva also blogged about Fravor's description of what the east coast pilots saw back in January

What is new is the level of detail offered,
and the fact that five pilots talked to The New York Times,
about this and two were on the record.

The fact of the matter,
is that we still don't know much about these strange events.
For instance, was this a community-wide event?
In other words,
were multiple squadrons at NAS Oceana experiencing similar incidents?

The AN/APG-79 was fairly common by 2015 among Super Hornet units.
If not, why only the Red Rippers?

Red Ripper

It is also just days before To The Stars Academy,
the quasi-research
entertainment corporation  Tp
put together by Blink 182 rocker Tom DeLonge  Pennywise
and now filled with impressive resumes from the intelligence and aerospace sectors,
including the ex-head of the AATIP program,
has the first episode of its highly touted new program on the History Channel premiere.

They are just one of many fighter squadrons based at NAS Oceana—
along with dozens of other Marine Corps and USAF Squadrons based in the region—
that also use the airspace for training.

Some of those units are equipped with more advanced aircraft types than the Super Hornet,
such as the F-35 and F-22
These aircraft also have AESA radars.
Did they spot similar phenomena during this period of time?

In addition,
why did it take a near miss to report the presence of these craft?
Was it a cultural and professional issue, or something else?
Now stepping back even further,

it is very interesting we are hearing of this now.
The steady drip, drip, drip of information
starting with the disclosure of the Pentagon's
Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) in December of 2017
has been peculiar, bordering on downright questionable, to say the least.

Yes...along with a visual description there is probably a version
mixing hi-res IR imagery that might show heat signatures within the "cube"
that could show power plant location, crew compartment,
and any interaction between the "sphere" and the atmosphere
eg...a force field?)

A few scenarios here.
The jet pilot did not specify the size of the sphere with the cube inside.
The pilot is being quoted by another pilot ... being interviewed by the NYT.
The entire story of the cube within a sphere ... is actually hearsay,
yet the sensationalist moment in the article actually.

The "drip drip drip" of information is also a propaganda ploy.
The Pentagon cannot contain the UFO phenomena and reality much longer.
They need funding for space weapons, and space forces,
and all things military in space.
With current politics in Democratic Socialism on the rise,
defense funding has to get innovative in raising public awareness and interest.
The UFO's in these Navy pilot cases are real,
but,
the "drip drip drip" of evidence and verifiable information  Whip
of the alien threat Uhoh
is going to,
not as slowly but quite surely, start leaking a lot of water.

So even if the aliens on the east coast, and the west coast Lol
are not a threat,
they will be introduced as an impending and growing threat.
This propaganda fuels money into the defense contracting businesses.
BAE  Raytheon and Lockheed Martin and on down the defense contracting list,
will see stocks rise with every new alien disclosure in the future.

Top 100 defense  Ninja contractors
check out number 8 ... look to the far right to "defense percentage"
https://people.defensenews.com/top-100/

Money has to be made on the alien threat and all things military in space.
There is no alien threat, but that idea can be made lucrative and profitable.
Look at TTSA.
Infested with ex CIA and DoD dick heads.
I don't mind if they make money,
but the Russians and the Chinese are the threat.
The aliens already kicked our asses without even trying,
and if they wanted get offensive militarily it would have already happened.

Everybody in aerospace defense contracting is positioning for the hog trough of defense funding.
The Democratic Socialists want to give the federal funding money to illegal immigrants,
to send them all to college, and give them free health care.
BAE, Lockheed Martin, and Raytheon do not fit into the Socialist equations.
The aliens are amused,
but managing the pests the fly up from the surface in jet scooters belching JP-8 fuel exhaust.

We have ... the sphere with the cube inside on the east coast.
We have ... the high speed spinning orbs on the west coast.
Maybe there are already two sets of aliens Dance2 Dance2
and two  different technologies.

Maybe a percentage of this recent "drip drip drip" Pentagon UFO disclosure,
is a manufactured con game for media manipulation.
My point being,
that this is all a Big Money Movie in the making.
Everything we see and read now are just the previews of the film in production.

If the alien propulsion technology is that advanced,
you can bet that their pharmaceutical and genetics technologies are as well.
It would then be predictably easy to biologically reduce the human population,
or deploy genetic hybrids that look human into the human populations.

With the amount of sightings by the pilots related to the NYT,
there has to either be a mother ship in orbit, or a base undersea.
A large craft could be sitting on an undersea ocean shelf off the coast, or deeper.
We all saw those movies too.
I don't think this anything new,
and visitation and observation is likely an ancient and repetitive occurrence.

Remember that part about the pilot's missile lock on the UFO?

Quote:A few days later,
Lieutenant Accoin said a training missile on his jet   [Image: naughty.gif]

locked on the object  Whip

and his infrared  Ninja camera picked it up as well.

“I knew I had it, I knew it was not a false hit,”
he said.
But still, “I could not pick it up visually.”

He couldn't see it. Cloaking device ? ... maybe ...and a Navy jet with a training missile Rofl

This flying thing he is talking about, is trespassing in US military air space.
He could have shot his "locked on" training  Tp missile.

The Pentagon has not tried to blow one of these tic tac's out of the sky?
At least to see if any response occurs other than flying away at higher speed.
I don't believe it.
They probably already have shot something down.

Drip drip drip information releases are getting somewhat drip dry already.
This might be leading up to a manufactured event.

What about THIS "Section"?>>>Section 333

Special Authority for Certain Unmanned Aircraft Systems (Section 44807)

The Small UAS Rule (14 CFR part 107) is only applicable to unmanned aircraft (drones) that weigh less than 55 pounds at takeoff. To fly an unmanned aircraft that weighs 55 pounds or more, operators need to apply for an exemption under the Special Authority for Certain Unmanned Systems (49 U.S.C. §44807). This authority replaces Section 333 of the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012 (FMRA) (PDF) (P. L. 112-95), which was repealed in the 2018 FAA Reauthorization Act (P. L. 115-254).

The Special Authority for Certain Unmanned Systems (49 U.S.C. § 44807) grants the Secretary of Transportation the authority to use a risk-based approach to determine whether an airworthiness certificate is required for a drone to operate safely in the NAS. Under this authority, the Secretary may grant exemptions to the applicable operating rules, aircraft requirements, and pilot requirements for a specific operation on a case-by-case basis.
The Special Authority for Certain Unmanned Systems (49 U.S.C. § 44807) grants UAS operators safe and legal entry into the NAS, thus discouraging illegal operations and improving safety. It is anticipated that this activity will result in significant economic benefits, and the FAA Administrator has identified this as a high priority project to address demand for civil operation of drones for commercial purposes. Basically a recent remodel of an older concept.

Astronomer probes idea of ET ‘lurkers’

Quote:A recently discovered group of nearby co-orbital objects,
is an attractive location for extraterrestrial intelligence (ETI) to locate a probe to observe Earth,
while not being easily seen.
These near-Earth objects provide an ideal way to watch our world from a secure natural object.

That provides resources an ETI might need:
materials, a firm anchor, concealment.
These have been little studied by astronomy and not at all by SETI or planetary radar observations.

Benford calls hypothetical, hidden, unknown and unseen alien probes by the name-- lurkers  Alien2 Whip
In theory,
they would be robotic, like our own robot probes sent out to explore our solar system,
but doubtless much more advanced.
It’s possible that a lurker could be in our solar system,
hiding on one of Earth’s co-orbital asteroids,
for thousands or millions of years,
just silently Damned  watching.

the older framework of the above were Bracewell probes

Quote:Bracewell probes --
If advanced alien civilizations exist,
they might place AI  Assimilated monitoring devices,
on or near the worlds of other evolving species to track their progress.

Such a robotic sentinel might establish contact with a developing race,
once that race had reached a certain technological threshold,
such as large-scale radio communication or interplanetary flight. Naughty

A probe located nearby,
could bide its time while our civilization developed technology that could find it,
and, once contacted,
could undertake a conversation in real time. Rofl

Meanwhile,
it could have been routinely reporting back on our biosphere and civilization for long eras.

There is a lot more at the above link.

The problem however with all the above "co-orbitals" and their alien rabbit hole probe nests,
is that the current alien trespassers,
{revealed in all the Pentagon disclosure videotapes},
are clearly not concerned about their probes being tracked and followed by US Navy jets.
The probes are coming from a mother ship likely stationed in near Earth orbit,
that has sufficient cloaking technology,
sush that they do not need to evade detection in "co-orbital objects".

If they want to hide,
you can bet they have cloaking technology for sitting right out in the open.

There is no need to hide ... near, or on a "co-orbital" object Nonono
if you are performing surveillance,
on just this emerging technological civilization.
The atomic bomb in 1945 is the first real signal of high technology to an alien civilization watching.
US Navy jets got their radar tracking upgrades that now detect the probes much more efficiently,
only in the last seven years.
We still don't have a base on the moon.
I don't think the current alien trespassers are too worried about being detected.

So any other alien probes that were, or are watching and collecting data on Earth,
for hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands of years ...
are likely relics still in near Earth orbit,
or on the moon.

I don't buy the "co-orbital" hidey holes for alien probes as too plausible.

Which brings us to the question ...
Just what are the aliens with the flying tic tac probes doing here?
They are maintaining some kind of information infrastructure applied to a purpose,
that goes far beyond casual scientific surveillance techniques.
And their primary purpose here may not have as much to do with us,
as we may fancy or fear in our imaginations.
If the aliens won't openly express their presence,
then they are trespassing.

The MOON is the THE STARSHIP. !!! It has main entry at the North Pole and from the Equator of the Moon north on the far-side.

The various ET's living iinside the Moon are now about 2.5 Million ETI's from at least 12 different Civilizations.

From a Amazon Prime Fire-Stick Documentary, some from The Star Academy, costs nothing to watch or record.

Thanks Bob, I will look at them later, I do not have a Firestick, but do have an Amazon Prime account, should amount to the same thing?

Why are you looking at porn at WORK ???? You WANT to be fired, or set-up to be type-chatting with someone under 18 years of age and go to jail for like FOREVER ???

I used the links you provided Bob :D The first one is a 404 Error, the second one starts with a man licking a womans Vagina, and the third one is another 404.

The second link was to a "non-linked" secret set of pages so that bots cannot follow my site to hidden sites where direct link is required.  Plus he wasn't licking Vagina but singing a song, "no video porn", ANYWHERE on my site secret or not...it's just not there.

The two songs are raunchy funny, but NO VIDEO of porn.

I placed that link once before in the 420 thread because there are several videos of cannabis in SCIENCE and the Rick Simpson Oil and Henry Ford making model T.

I would never jeopardize this site here at THMF...way too important.

If I could delete the links in these two entries I would do so IMMEDIATELY and ask Keith to do so.

USS Nimitz UFOs 'were always there' and 'secret spyware upgrade' exposed them
The US Navy Senior Chief Operations Specialist who specialised in radar systems claimed UFOs may have always been present but had only become visible after a "top secret upgrade on spyware"
By
Katy GillVideo News Reporter

A former US Navy Senior Chief Operations specialist who specialised in radar systems has claimed UFOs may have always been present but only became visible after a "top secret upgrade on spyware".
Kevin Day is a Topgun air intercept controller with more than 20 years experience in strike group air defence including war-time operations.

In November 2004, off the coast of San Diego, US, he was a radar operator on the USS Princeton, part of the USS Nimitz Carrier Strike Group.
On several occasions over a six-day period, military pilots reported seeing Tic Tac-shaped objects that performed remarkable manoeuvres beyond the capability of the US Navy's aircraft.

But in a recent interview on Tony Sweet's Truth Be Told podcast, Kevin claimed UFOs may have long been in the air, only becoming visible following a recent radar upgrad

[*]He said: "There had been a top-secret upgrade of our system that had gotten underway.
"They upgraded our cooperative engagement capability and did some tweaking on our spy radar and the way that it all works.
"I think because of these upgrades we were suddenly able to see things that had always been there.

[*]

"So if you had been on the older systems you wouldn't have picked them up?" Tony asked.
"That kind of explains why since 2004 this technology, our upgrade, is now fleet-wide and now everyone is seeing them," Kevin responded.
"I think that's the reason why.
"I'm speculating, but it finally answers questions in my mind.

The big problem with everything that exists with the evidence presented earlier by TTSA,
and the concept of:
"UFO's may have always been present"
is that nobody is saying shit about what is happening right now Whip

The jets got the radar upgrades a decade ago,
then all of a sudden there are flying tic tacs with multiple encounters,
then TTSA gets Pentagon footage years later,
but,
nobody is saying shit about what is happening right now in the same skies where there were seen in 2014,
or elsewhere for that matter.

If these UFO's ... "may have always been present"
then they are still in the skies now,
and US Navy jets are still accounting for them somewhere on the upgraded radar systems.

Did the flying tic tacs just go POOF and disappear in the last few years,
or are they still in action?

Show us the US Navy jet footage of the UFO's from 2019 Whip

This DoD - CIA - TTSA  ... TV game show ... needs an infusion of fresh material.

Everything they have presented in UFO evidence is old and getting worn out.
The sensationalism is fading fast.
They are feeding us bits and pieces, tossing us a bone or two to chew on.

Quote:What speed defines Mach 1? and why?
Asked by: Anthony Matarazzo

Answer
Mach number is a common 'ratio' unit of speed when one is talking about aircrafts. By definition, Mach number is a ratio of the speed of a body (aircraft) to the speed of sound in the undisturbed medium through which the body is traveling. It is said that the aircraft is flying at Mach 1 if its speed is equal to the speed of sound in air (which is 332 m/s or 1195 km/hr or 717 miles/hour.) An aircraft flying at Mach 2 is flying at twice the speed of sound in air, etc.

Mach numbers are named after Ernst Mach (1838-1916), an Austrian philosopher and physicist. The term Mach number came into use in 1929.

Researchers Find Source of Strange 'Negative' Gravity
By Rafi Letzter August 10, 2018 Strange News

[*][Image: TFLMfzgPg9ikeEKgVqv89A-320-80.jpg]Scientists have long thought of soundwaves as massless, and this image of the sound waves surrounding a supersonic jet sure look that way. But new research suggests that isn't quite the case.
[*](Image: © Shutterstock)
The speed of sound in air (which is ~333 m/s)
Sound has negative mass, and all around you it's drifting up, up and away — albeit very slowly.
That's the conclusion of a paper submitted on July 23 to the preprint journal arXiv, and it shatters the conventional understanding that researchers have long had of sound waves: as massless ripples that zip through matter, giving molecules a shove but ultimately balancing any forward or upward motion with an equal and opposite downward motion. That's a straightforward model that will explain the behavior of sound in most circumstances, but it's not quite true, the new paper argues. [The Mysterious Physics of 7 Everyday Things]
A phonon — a particle-like unit of vibration that can describe sound at very small scales — has a very slight negative mass, and that means sound waves travel upward ever so slightly, said Rafael Krichevsky, a graduate student in physics at Columbia University.
Phonons aren't particles of the sort most people typically imagine, like atoms or molecules, said Krichevsky, who published the paper along with Angelo Esposito, a graduate student in physics at Columbia University, and Alberto Nicolis, an associate physics professor at Columbia.

[*]
[*]
When sound moves through air it vibrates the molecules around it, but that vibration can't be easily described by the movement of the molecules themselves, Krichevsky told Live Science in an email.
[*]
[*]Instead, just as light waves can be described as photons, or a particles of light, phonons are a way to describe sound waves that emerge from the complicated interactions of the fluid molecules, Krichevsky said. No physical particle emerges, but researchers can use the mathematics of particles to describe it.
And it turns out, the researchers showed, these emergent phonons have a tiny mass — meaning that when gravity tugs on them, they move in the opposite direction.
"In a gravitational field phonons slowly accelerate in the opposite direction that you would expect, say, a brick to fall," Krichevsky said.

To understand how this might work, imagine a normal fluid in which gravity acts downward. Fluid particles will compress the particles below it, so that it's slightly denser lower down. Physicists already know that sound typically moves faster through denser media than through less-dense media — so the speed of sound above a phonon will be slower than the speed of sound through the slightly denser particles below it. That causes the phonon to "deflect" upward, Krichevsky said.
This process happens with large-scale sound waves, too, Krichevsky said. That includes every bit of sound that comes out of your mouth — albeit only very slightly. Over a long-enough distance, the sound of you saying "hello" would bend upward into the sky.
The effect is too tiny to measure with existing technology, the researchers wrote in the new paper, which has not been peer-reviewed.
But it's not impossible that, down the road, a very precise measurement could be made using super-precise clocks that would detect the slight curvature of a phonon's path. (The New Scientist suggested heavy-metal music would be a fun candidate for such an experiment in their original report on the subject.)
And there are real consequences to this discovery, the researcher wrote. In the dense cores of neutron stars, where sound waves move at nearly the speed of light, an anti-gravitational sound wave should have real effects on the whole star's behavior.
For now, though, this is entirely theoretical — something to ponder as sound falls upward all around us.

[*]Physicists create 'negative mass'

[*][*][*]

[*]by Eric Sorensen, Washington State University
[*][*][*]

[*][Image: 58f4cb2c665e6.png]Experimental TOF images of the effectively 1D expanding SOC BEC for expansion times of 0, 10, and 14 ms.
Washington State University physicists have created a fluid with negative mass, which is exactly what it sounds like. Push it, and unlike every physical object in the world we know, it doesn't accelerate in the direction it was pushed. It accelerates backwards.

The phenomenon is rarely created in laboratory conditions and can be used to explore some of the more challenging concepts of the cosmos, said Michael Forbes, a WSU assistant professor of physics and astronomy and an affiliate assistant professor at the University of Washington. The research appears today in the journal [i]Physical Review Letters
, where it is featured as an "Editor's Suggestion."
Hypothetically, matter can have negative mass in the same sense that an electric charge can be either negative or positive. People rarely think in these terms, and our everyday world sees only the positive aspects of Isaac Newton's Second Law of Motion, in which a force is equal to the mass of an object times its acceleration, or F=ma.In other words, if you push an object, it will accelerate in the direction you're pushing it. Mass will accelerate in the direction of the force.
"That's what most things that we're used to do," said Forbes, hinting at the bizarreness to come. "With negative mass, if you push something, it accelerates toward you."
Conditions for negative mass
He and his colleagues created the conditions for negative mass by cooling rubidium atoms to just a hair above absolute zero, creating what is known as a Bose-Einstein condensate. In this state, predicted by Satyendra Nath Bose and Albert Einstein, particles move extremely slowly and, following the principles of quantum mechanics, behave like waves. They also synchronize and move in unison as what is known as a superfluid, which flows without losing energy.
Led by Peter Engels, WSU professor of physics and astronomy, researchers on the sixth floor of Webster Hall created these conditions by using lasers to slow the particles, making them colder, and allowing hot, high energy particles to escape like steam, cooling the material further.
The lasers trapped the atoms as if they were in a bowl measuring less than a hundred microns across. At this point, the rubidium superfluid has regular mass. Breaking the bowl will allow the rubidium to rush out, expanding as the rubidium in the center pushes outward.
To create negative mass, the researchers applied a second set of lasers that kicked the atoms back and forth and changed the way they spin. Now when the rubidium rushes out fast enough, if behaves as if it has negative mass."Once you push, it accelerates backwards," said Forbes, who acted as a theorist analyzing the system. "It looks like the rubidium hits an invisible wall."
Avoiding underlying defects
The technique used by the WSU researchers avoids some of the underlying defects encountered in previous attempts to understand negative mass.
"What's a first here is the exquisite control we have over the nature of this negative mass, without any other complications" said Forbes. Their research clarifies, in terms of negative mass, similar behavior seen in other systems. This heightened control gives researchers a new tool to engineer experiments to study analogous physics in astrophysics, like neutron stars, and cosmological phenomena like black holes and dark energy, where experiments are impossible."It provides another environment to study a fundamental phenomenon that is very peculiar," Forbes said.
