Arsia Mons is ERUPTING!
#1
So much for the Mars is a dead planet thing...

or perhaps Quaid actually started the reactor??

either way, Arsia Mons has been erupting since about Sept 20th

So far science hasn't said doodly squat about it. Figures, seems heads are so far up asses that they can't even see the f'in Millennium Falcon sitting plainly on top of Ryugu...

ah but the images... the images do NOT lie. this thing is blowing, and continues to this very day, once the dust storm cleared there it was.
It's Real™

Oh, almost forgot... the images are from ESA's VMC camera- our 'Mars Webcam'

You can look through them and see what I'm talking about here

Mars likely to have enough oxygen to support life: study

Paris (AFP) – Salty water just below the surface of Mars could hold enough oxygen to support the kind of microbial life that emerged and flourished on Earth billions of years ago, researchers reported Monday.
In some locations, the amount of oxygen available could even keep alive a primitive, multicellular animal such as a sponge, they reported in the journal Nature Geosciences.

“We discovered that brines” — water with high concentrations of salt — “on Mars can contain enough oxygen for microbes to breathe,” said lead author Vlada Stamenkovic, a theoretical physicist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California.
“This fully revolutionises our understanding of the potential for life on Mars, today and in the past,” he told AFP.
Up to now, it had been assumed that the trace amounts of oxygen on Mars were insufficient to sustain even microbial life.
“We never thought that oxygen could play a role for life on Mars due to its rarity in the atmosphere, about 0.14 percent,” Stamenkovic said.

By comparison, the life-giving gas makes up 21 percent of the air we breathe.
On Earth, aerobic — that is, oxygen breathing — life forms evolved together with photosynthesis, which converts CO2 into O2. The gas played a critical role in the emergence of complex life, notable after the so-called Great Oxygenation Event some 2.35 billion years ago.
But our planet also harbours microbes — at the bottom of the ocean, in boiling hotsprings — that subsist in environments deprived of oxygen.
“That’s why — whenever we thought of life on Mars — we studied the potential for anaerobic life,” Stamenkovic.
– Life on Mars? –
The new study began with the discovery by NASA’s Curiosity Mars rover of manganese oxides, which are chemical compounds that can only be produced with a lot of oxygen.
Curiosity, along with Mars orbiters, also established the presence of brine deposits, with notable variations in the elements they contained.

A high salt content allows for water to remain liquid — a necessary condition for oxygen to be dissolved — at much lower temperatures, making brines a happy place for microbes.
Depending on the region, season and time of day, temperatures on the Red Planet can vary between minus 195 and 20 degrees Celsius (minus 319 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit).
The researchers devised a first model to describe how oxygen dissolves in salty water at temperatures below freezing.
A second model estimated climate changes on Mars over the last 20 million years, and over the next 10 million years.
Taken together, the calculations showed which regions on the Red Planet are most likely to produce brine-based oxygen, data that could help determine the placement of future probes.
“Oxygen concentrations [on Mars] are orders of magnitude” — several hundred times — “greater than needed by aerobic, or oxygen-breathing — microbes,” the study concluded.
“Our results do not imply that there is life on Mars,” Stamenkovic cautioned. “But they show that the Martian habitability is affected by the potential of dissolved oxygen.”

Martian Volcanoes May Not be Extinct

Mars appears to be a calm and desolate planet, but scientists now think something big is brewing beneath its wind-swept surface.
New research on Hawaiian volcanoes, combined with satellite imagery of Mars, suggests that three Martian volcanoes may only be dormant—not extinct. Instead of Mars' crust moving over stationary magma "hot spots," as occurs on Earth, researchers think the plumes travel.
"On Earth, the Hawaiian islands were built from volcanoes that erupted as the Earth's crust slid over a hot spot—a plume of rising magma," said Jacob Bleacher, a planetary scientist at Arizona State University and NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. "Our research raises the possibility that the opposite happens on Mars; a plume might move beneath stationary crust."

Bleacher and his colleagues' findings are detailed in a recent issue of the Journal of Geophysical Research, Planets.
Sleeping giants?
Each of the volcanoes, located in the Tharsis region of Mars, is about 186 miles (300 kilometers) across. The largest volcano on Earth, Mauna Loa, is only 60 miles (97 kilometers) across.
Although scientists have never observed a volcanic Mars, recent images from the European Space Agency's Mars Express missions suggest the volcanoes there have been active within the past two million years and might still be. Also, the sparse impact craters near the three Tharsis volcanoes indicate relatively recent eruptions.
Lava flows show that these recent eruptions oozed from large cracks on the volcanoes' sides, occurring in a chain that meandered northeast.
"We thought we could take what we learned about lava flow features on Hawaiian volcanoes and apply it to Martian volcanoes to reveal their history," Bleacher said. But until recently, images of Mars weren't detailed enough to make a good comparison, he noted.
Traveling hot spot
Armed with new images from NASA's Mars Odyssey and Mars Global Surveyor orbiters, as well as the ESA's Mars Express, the team saw that the three volcanoes were similar in formation. However, each had recently erupted in distinct ways that allowed the scientists to determine the ages of the eruptions.
During the volcanic activity, lava oozed from cracks in the volcanoes' sides and formed "lava aprons;" the smoother the apron, scientists determined, the older the eruption.
Lava aprons on the northern-most volcano, Ascraeus Mons, are the youngest, Bleacher said, while the southern-most volcano, Arsia Mons, has the oldest. Like the Hawaiian volcanoes, the findings show that the volcanoes were fed by a common source of magma—but one that was on the move.
There's an alternative explanation for the chain of activity. Scientists postulate that the plume of magma could have spread out once it impacted the crust from below, like smoke hitting a ceiling.
"Our evidence doesn't favor either scenario," Bleacher said, "but one way to explain the trends we see is for a plume to move under the stationary Martian crust." If true, the traveling plume of magma could pass beneath dormant Martian volcanoes and stir them from sleep.

oh what a crock! their so-called "moving ash" is a known imaging system artifact. whack ass youtube goobers

I've been watching Arsia 'smoke' for some time now, even back to 2009, it does so periodically, they say it's seasonal, happening in early summer- but I've seen it happen in the dead of winter, fall spring AND summer- you can tell the difference between the orographic effect clouding in spring/summer and this. This is a plume

I was waiting for an event like this one..

Arsia Mons has been erupting since about Sept 20th    email Subject header

Email below sent to about 20 NASA/JPL/PDS/Canadian Space program, local congress swamp Rep Elise Stefaniick,
President Trump is getting his with color copies of every link except the list of synonyms we have piled up on site, did not include list to P.Trump.

I put this on Lunar anomalies last night. Should go here for the RECORD:

Dear NASA/JPL/Canada Space Agency/local Represenative
WHY isn't the above subject matter has NOT been released to the PUBLIC ????

https://www.flickr.com/photos/esa_marswebcam/

Once more like SOL 1669 with a artifact CARD on a rock that was done in ONLY in B&W even in 3D...but Dr.Mickey Malin the "1998 Catbox" king of lenses and of the ONLY Quadrant on Mars where the "Origins:Enigmatic" was the ONLY Map Legend said from early 1960's until 2005.

Dr. Tonka then added several guesses leaving the Map Legend: "Origins:Enigmatic but probably  'inliner of older material'" aka Photo--Shopped.  There still remain NO geological methodology given to this area.

No vulcanized, (Like Arsia Mons is been doing for more than a MONTH and NASA/JPL/MRO has been SILENT !!!), sedimentary, plate tectonics, glaciation, thrust uprights, crater compaction, NO geological reasons.

The #2020CydoniaRover better go there or it's a waste of Space $$$

Also you folks NEED to do better job for the PUBLIC who are NOT "sheeple", for people who ARE AWARE of what's going on. Elon Musk is going to Land at 40 degree Latitude only a few longitudes West of there.

I've sent several letters to President Trump about the IMPORTANCE of not wasting this rover when NASA/JPL is choosing a site this coming week.  He'll also be getting several COLOR images showing the 1998 Catbox, the Mark Carlotto PROPERLY processed image image. Along with 3D images of the SMOKING PYRAMID, the D&M Pyramid overlain the Pentagon.  I ask does he want a "Space Force"  that will Boldly Seek the Unknown, or waste $$$ on Scientific Cowardice ???

The images linked are COLOR Printed and wording is different:

Dear President Trump and Staff,

I like your 5% plan, spending money WISELY with Common Sense validity. The #2020CydoniaRover is sadly NOT going be its NASA's 'chosen' landing zone. Yet this Quadrant is the ONLY Quadrant the USGS states in the Map Legend since early 1960's Stated This “ Origins: Enigmatic” PERIOD !!! Until 2005 they added several “guesses” still “Origins:Enigmatic” with 'guesses'. One construed as 'Photo-Shopped': “Origins:Enigmatic but likely inliners of older materials” There remains NO, geological formulation NATURALLY conclude HOW area formed. No vulcanization, plate tectonics, sedimentary, glacial, impacts, no geological reason is given. NONE !!!

Cydonia is 40 degrees latitude, same Elon Musk going to land only several longitudes WEST. Well within driving distance. Seems Elon is a lot smarter than NASA has been. Cydonia two Viking images this area found many “Enigmatic” formations. Most famous ones are Ares Face, D&M, and the one I found Smoking Pyramid like Egypt's Giza.

I request you issue an executive order MAKE NASA land this rover Cydonia. There is LIQUID WATER below the surface in Cydonia; daytime 70 degrees F at ground level, liquid running linea, PLEASE ask NASA explain why this rover is NOT going to the ONLY quadrant on Mars where it has NO IDEA for Natural Geological formation. It is the MAIN point of my main site. Next week they are going to meet try choose from 3-4 other sites where they ALREADY know how that quadrant was formed. Seems waste of $$$ to NOT send it where NASA & USGS does NOT know how this region was formed. Do you want your “Space Force” to be Bold and Brave or waste $$ on “Scientific Cowardice”?

I ask that you see these anomalous objects, The D&M Pyramid shape fits right over the Pentagon, the infamous 'Catbox' of the Ares Face and one when done PROPERLY we see two nostrils, along a single nose ridge line, two lips, above a defined chin and below the nostrils. The head dress is more clearly defined, as are two eyeballs and sockets with one tear drop on right eye.

There are many more anomalies there that NASA/JPL are being 'Scientific Cowards' to NOT send the #2020CydoniaRover to this SINGLE and ONLY Quadrant on Mars that the map legend states, as you can see “Origins: Enigmatic”. Do you want our “Space Force” to be wasting $$$ seeking things they already know is there, or be Bold, Brave, and Eager to Explore the UNKNOWN ?

The week of October 22 to 26 NASA is holding meeting to select a landing site form the 3-4 proposals other 'scientists' who want to be 'Mission Controller'. I say YOU sir should issue executive order for this 1st Nuclear Rover, with a UAV to land in Cydonia. To go ANYWHERE else is a waste of taxpayer $$$ and also, it would land there in your second term. You would have the glory of settling this area once and for all, Was there Intelligent Life on Mars long before the planet got hit.

This is an astounding achievement, and legacy, for human kind to work with Elon Musk in building human colonies on Mars well ahead of NASA's plans. I am member of HiWish same as Elon is and I KNOW Elon is targeting the 40 latitude, and a little West in longitude, within one day's driving distance to edge of Cydonia.

Thank You for your time, diligence and work you are doing. And hope theses pages reaches your eyes to read and wonder why are we NOT sending this rover to Cydonia? Why is NASA and YOUR “Space Force” not willing to seek the unknown and make it KNOWN for all humanity's benefit. A way to save our species, to get off planet Earth and take our place among the Stars.

Sincerely your supporter forever, although I will still vote Republican or Common Sense as a FOR-PROFIT party that is perfectly legal according to recorded phone call with the FEC. Printing Common Sense on ballots for party affiliation and vertically print choice, we can put a new party, and a new Constitutional convention by printing it along top line with no other races Convention and print YES in the vertical column for that. It would surely stop vote fraud by electronic means since ALL ballots would have to be hand counted.

Sincerely your supporter,

Naturally occurring 'batteries' fueled organic carbon synthesis on Mars
October 31, 2018, Carnegie Institution for Science

Mars' organic carbon may have originated from a series of electrochemical reactions between briny liquids and volcanic minerals, according to new analyses of three Martian meteorites from a team led by Carnegie's Andrew Steele published in Science Advances.

The group's analysis of a trio of Martian meteorites that fell to Earth—Tissint, Nakhla, and NWA 1950—showed that they contain an inventory of organic carbon that is remarkably consistent with the organic carbon compounds detected by the Mars Science Laboratory's rover missions.

In 2012, Steele led a team that determined the organic carbon found in 10 Martian meteorites did indeed come from the Red Planet and was not due to contamination from Earth, but also that the organic carbon did not have a biological origin. This new work takes his research to the next step—trying to understand how Mars' organic carbon was synthesized, if not by biology.

Organic molecules contain carbon and hydrogen, and sometimes include oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur, and other elements. Organic compounds are commonly associated with life, although they can be created by non-biological processes as well, which are referred to as abiotic organic chemistry.

"Revealing the processes by which organic carbon compounds form on Mars has been a matter of tremendous interest for understanding its potential for habitability," Steele said.

He and his co-authors took a deep dive into the minerology of these three Martian meteorites. Using advanced microscopy and spectroscopy, they were able to determine that the meteorites' organic compounds were likely created by electrochemical corrosion of minerals in Martian rocks by a surrounding salty liquid brine.

"The discovery that natural systems can essentially form a small corrosion-powered battery that drives electrochemical reactions between minerals and surrounding liquid has major implications for the astrobiology field," Steele explained.

A similar process could occur anywhere that igneous rocks are surrounded by brines, including the subsurface oceans of Jupiter's moon Europa, Saturn's moon Enceladus, and even some environments here on Earth, particularly early in this planets' history.
