Antarctica.
What actually lies beneath all that snow and ice? And why have so many nations been so
interested in studying the continent for such a long time?

Perhaps there is more there than anyone could ever imagine.
OK. Here's the premise. Antarctica is a continent that once had a resident civilization.
Certain expeditions to the area found remnents of that civilization and have been mining
technology ever since.
One of the first major (and Military) expeditions to Antarctica was accomplished by the
German NAZIs.
(From Above Top Secret)
The Neuschwabenland
In late 1938, just before WW2, Byrd visited Hamburg and was invited to participate in the
1938/1939 German "Neuschwabenland" Antarctic Expedition by the Nazis. Byrd had a great
knowledge of the Antarctic area, he had already been on several expeditions there
previously. However Byrd declined.
On 17 December 1938 the New Swabia Expedition left Hamburg for Antarctica aboard the
Schwabenland, a freighter capable of carrying and catapulting aircraft. The expedition had
33 members plus the Schwabenland's crew of 24. In January 1939 the ship arrived in an area
already claimed in 1938 by Norway as Dronning Maud Land and began charting the region. In
the following weeks 15 flights were made by the shipâs two Dornier Wal aircraft named
Passat and Boreas over an area reported as about 600,000 square kilometres (although others
have claimed the area flown over was half this size). More than 16,000 aerial photographs
were taken but these are still considered useless since they consist of more or less
endless white images with no indications of latitude or longitude. To assert Germanyâs
claim to newly named Neu-Schwabenland three German flags were placed along the coast and 13
more were air-dropped further inland. Some accounts claim these markers were 1.5-metre (5
ft)-tall iron poles topped with a swastika.
This map appears to have been the flight patterns of the aircraft that surveyed the larger
area.
![[Image: NAZIareamap.jpg]](http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/a464/thealemos/NAZIareamap.jpg)
German expedition in 1938-39, according to this map, explored numerous areas in this sector
of the Antarctic. Red circles are flags (German) raised (three bases along coast), green
are flags dropped (from an aircraft). Wish one could see the original and translate the
terms.

It is claimed that the Nazis were setting up a secret base for advanced weapon and flight
experiments as well as a place to escape should the war not go to plan. This was also
detailed in newspapers of the time in the "Vierjahresplan" (The Four Year Plan) promoting
the Third Reich's plan to colonize the Neuschuabenland.
The Nazi expedition discovered several ice free regions with lakes and small signs of
vegetation. The expedition's geologists said that this phenomenon was due to hot springs.
This discovery led to Heinrich Himmler's effort to hatch a bold plan to build a permanent
base in Antarctica. That base was code named "Station 211".

NAZI BASE REPORTED IN ANTARCTIC AREA; Repair Shop at Deception Bay, 500 Miles From South
America, Is Blown Up BYRD MAKES DISCLOSURE Admiral at Boston Greets Ship Returning With
Members of United States Expedition
Special to THE NEW YORK TIMES.

BOSTON, May 5 -- The establishment of a German naval repair shop at Deception Bay, only 500
miles from South America, was revealed today as the motorship North Star docked at the army
base with thirty-six scientists and explorers home from Little America.
1942: in Poltava, a city in the Ukraine, during the summer, you may have seen a very
strange-looking military unit on the march, heading for a waiting passenger train. The unit
consisted of women, all of them blond and blue-eyed, between the ages of 17 and 24, tall
and slender, their sensational figures encased in striking sky-blue uniforms.
Each woman wore an Italian-style garrison cap, an A-line skirt with the hem below the knee,
and a form-fitting jacket with the insignia of the SS. You might have thought the SS had
recruited a platoon of high-class call girls, but the truth was far stranger than that. You
would have been looking at Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler's latest brainstorm - the
Antarktische Siedlungnsfrauen [Antarctic Settlement Women or ASF].
That story may have been verified in part by another story concerning one Irma Griese and
the special uniform worn by the ASF.
1943
"During this period, Himmler had a girl of the Antarktisches
Seidlungensfrauen (Translated: Antarctic Settlement Women or ASF)
dispatched to Auschwitz. Irma took a fancy to the sky-blue jacket and
skirt because "it matched her eyes. She carried her silver-handled whip in
one of her gleaming black boots." She simply transferred her Allegemeine-SS
runes and insignia to the ASF garb and made it her personal uniform."

1945- Enter the British: Britain's Secret War in Antarctica
Mentions the existence of "Polar Men"
"The summer before (1944), we were told, the original scientists and commandos had found an
"ancient tunnel". Under orders, the force went through the tunnel but only two returned
before the Antarctic winter set in. During the winter months, the two survivors made absurd
claims over the radio about "Polar Men, ancient tunnels and Nazis". Radio contact was
finally lost in July 1945, and ominously for our mission, going into the unknown, the last
broadcast brought us all further anxiety as we listened to the fear in the voice: "...the
Polar Men have found us!" was screamed before contact was lost."

"At this point I would like to relate exactly why we exploded. When we felt that bump, we
had torn a hole in the hull and the hull tank began leaking profusely. The 145-octane fuel
was ignited by the engine exhaust flames. BOOM! -- 1,345 gallons most likely created the

"As a radar operator with vast polar experience, I couldn't believe this had happened. It
has now been determined that this "no returns" phenomenon was the first-ever "stealth

was such a gradual incline that there was nothing for the radar to see."
